The war for humanity rages on in Terminator Salvation, the fourth film of the Terminator series. Directed by McG (Charlie's Angels), the 2009 sci-fi action blockbuster is set in 2018, and stars Christian Bale as Resistance leader John Connor. After a nuclear explosion destroys a Skynet base, cyborg Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) emerges from the debris, unaware of the war and his own origins. He joins the Resistance movement to fight Skynet, not knowing that he has actually been programmed to lure John to his death. Terminator Salvation introduces the original Terminator's hero Kyle Reese as a teenager played by Anton Yelchin, as well as the T-800 Model 101 Terminator.

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, "Terminator Salvation" stars Christian Bale as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.
