October 12, 2005 If only everyone.......Was as talented as Janne Da Arc. After hearing the single Neo Venus from Z-Hard, I knew that I had to purchase one of their albums, and quite simply, I'm astounded. Every member of the band displays incredible musicianship at all times, and I'm quite convinced that if every progressive rock band around the world gave Janne a listen, it would be for the better. I've never heard any other rock use their musical talent as well as they do! My only complaint about the album is that the songs are not as diverse as they have been on previous Janne offerings, with similar melodies that can begin to run together after a while. That said, however, Janne Da Arc writes catchy pop melodies like no other band I've ever heard! Overall, if you are looking for stellar musicianship, this band is top notch, but not only are they virtuosos, they understand how to play great pop songs that are meaningful to everyone, musician or not.
