《橋》是東北電影制片廠攝制的第一部長故事片。也是新中國電影的奠基之作。
1947年冬﹐東北某鐵路工廠為支援解放戰爭﹐接受了搶修松花江鐵橋的任務。開始﹐總工程師看不到群眾的力量﹐對完成任務持懷疑態度。有的工人群眾也存在雇佣思想。在這種情況下﹐廠長主動深入工區﹐深入群眾﹐啟發動員大家為修復大橋出謀獻策﹐集中了大家的智慧和力量。為制造修復鐵橋需要的橋座和鉚釘﹐他們先修復了煉鋼爐﹕第一次煉鋼失敗受挫﹐工人梁日升又想出了用耐火磚代替白雲石的辦法﹐并獲成功。此后﹐工人們也克服一系列困難﹐造出了橋座和鉚釘。為按時完成修復鐵橋的任務﹐鐵路工廠的工人們群策群力﹐響應上級號召﹐投身修橋工作﹐終於在松花江解凍之前﹐將大橋修復。
In the Winter of 1949, a certain northeast railway factory accepts a task to rush to repair Songhua River Railway Bridge in support of War of Liberation. At first, the general engineer can not see mass strength and throws doubt upon completion of the task. Some workers also have thoughts of engagement. Under such a circumstance, the director takes initiative in entering work areas, calls for workers to make suggestions for repairing the bridge and centralizes everybody's wisdom and strength. In order to turn out bridge-seats and rivets to repair the bridge, they restores steel-making stove firstly. After the first time steel-making failure, a worker Liang Rishen theinks out a way utilizing firebricks to replace dolomites and succeeds. Hereafter, workers overcome a series of difficulties and produce bridge-seats and rivets. In order to accomplish the task, railway workers devote themselves into repairing the bridge in answer to the superior's summon, and finishe the task before ice-out of Songhua River.
