During the middle of the Song dynasty, Jin General Luk Man-lung defeats the Song troops battle after battle. Luk, adopted by the Jin marshal Yuen-ngai Nut-suet when small, is in fact the son of a loyal Song general. Song minister Wong Tso amputates his arm and pretends to surrender to the Jin state, hoping to seize the chance to reveal to Luk his real identity. Although ashamed of his upbringing, Luk refuses to harm his foster father and follows Wong to return to the Song state.
