本片由楚原導演，電影改編自名作家黃鷹的武俠小說。故事描述，傳說中原名勝「天簾夜月」乃東瀛武士聚居之地，但後來突然湮沒無蹤，惟近來卻有很多武林中人在這裡神秘死亡；楓林堡少主鳳棲梧（莫少聰）前往調查，無意中從一班江湖敗類手中救出少女水靈（翁靜晶）；後靈之母水天嬌（魏秋樺）的妖魂，連同消失已久的東瀛故園突告出現，嬌以毒酒迷倒梧企圖吸血，適逢破曉時屆作罷，嬌將妖魂降入靈身，囑看顧梧後逸去，靈違母命救醒梧……
Directed by acclaimed director Chu Yuan, The Enchantress is a wild "Rock-em, Sock-em", high flying, swordplay film full of sight gags ghosts, priests, underworld battles, and a conclave of exceptional martial art talent. The story centers on swordsman Feng Chi-wu (Mok Siu-chung), who is investigating the mysterious deaths of martial artists. The film also stars the perennial Lo Lieh and the martial directors are Yuen Hua and Yuan Pin, who always co-operated with Jackie Chan.
