The Forest Riders (VCD) (Hong Kong Version) VCD

Starring matinee idol Jiang Han and actresses Han Ying and Wong Hsiao Yen, the 1965 classic The Forest Riders is one of the few films directed by renowned writer and scholar Shum Kam Chi. As in films like The Girl From Phnom Penh (1963) and The Genius (1966), Shum's works show an affinity for small stories and rural China, creating a distinctive tone and atmosphere that set Shum apart from other contemporary greats like Chang Cheh and Li Han Hsiang.

Su Feng (Han Ying) and Su Hsia (Wong Hsiao Yen) are just typical village girls passing their lives peacefully with their family until one day bandits come storming in. In the subsequent ravage, their father is killed, and Su Hsia is separated from her mother and sister. Su Hsia is rescued by a couple, and begins a life of wandering with them. Su Feng and her mother settle in another town, where her beauty attracts the unwanted attentions of slimy mayor Yen, a former bandit who won't rest until he gets what he wants. Yen comes up with a devious plan to take Su Feng by force, but a masked swordsman comes in at the last minute to save her. This hero it turns out is none other than Su Hsia!

少女符素?(韓瑛飾)其妹符素俠(王小燕飾)與家人原過著平淡愉快的生活，然而一天土匪劫村，素鳳父親遇害，素俠混亂中與母親及姐姐失散，及後幸得擁有一身飛天絕技的老周夫婦所救，開始隨他們浪跡天涯。另一邊廂，素鳳與母親流落異鄉，其間素鳳的美貌吸引了鄉長閻堯銘(石磊飾)，從前原是土匪的堯銘不惜用卑鄙手段得到素鳳。此時傳聞中劫富濟貧的俠士「飛俠」出手相救，原來「飛俠」正是素俠，糾纏間更得悉堯銘正是殺父仇人，素俠誓要報這段殺父之仇…

Su-feng (Han Ying) and her little sister Su-hsia (Wong Hsiao-yen) use to live with their family happily in a village. One day the bandits loot the village and kill Su-hsia's father. Su-hsia has separated with her mother and sister during the chaos and is saved by the Chou and his wife, who are jugglers and performers of feat of arms. On the other hand, Su-feng leaves with her mother while she meet Yen Yao-ming (Shin Lui), who is a former bandit but now the mayor of the town. Attracted by Su-feng's beauty, Yao-ming tries every means to marry her. This is the time when a masked swordsman appears and gets Su-feng out of danger. Later Su-hsia is recongnized as the masked swordsmand, the family reunites again. At the same time, Su-hsia realizes that Yao-ming is the Bandit who killed his father, the heart of revenge starts burning in Su-hsia....
