A Benchmark of Excellence
| Will this rare gem ever be equaled? 106 episodes and never a dull moment, many many stories flow seamlessly one after another ,intertwined like little vignettes in a rich tapestry. The actors are all wonderful with a sense of purpose and enthusiasm that makes you want to keeps you glued to the TV. The female leads are wonderful, gutsy as it is with the the entire cast, but amongst the "minor" roles I like the father and uncle #2 adding comic contrast to the often serious subject matter, there is a lot of heart in this show. My only criticism is the lead male actor Steven Ma , as usual handsome but needing a lot more Oomph! His all occasion souls searching pensive look never changes and at times wear thin. Despite this one of the best series i have watched. |

BEST series
| This series has been the best out of my tv watching career life. The series itself does not have any boring scenes or wasted scenes, it is very touching and emotional which expresses the values of both traditional and modern society yet it is set at a transitional period in Chinese history. It is a worthwhile product and in terms of cost it is a bargain as to what will be gained by watching this series! |

Excellent
| I have been waiting for this series for so long....!!! I am so glad it is finally released. The quality is fantastic, esp it is in DVD format. Amy Chan's character is the best and I love to watch every scene she is in. The other characters are great too, esp it is such a long series, but no boring sessions. I cannot wait for the final one to be issued. It is worth keeping. |
