This 1962 Cantonese opera is worth shouting about as it is the only teaming on screen of Yam Kim Fai and Xiao Juan who would achieve superstardom as Ivy Ling Po a year later in 1963. Originally released in the cinemas as The Royal Wedding By Royal Command, this is one of the must-haves of the genre. Although I don't understand a word of Cantonese and the subtitles are in Mandarin which I don't read, the mere sight of such a cute young Ivy Ling Po is worth the price of the DVD. To Ivy Ling Po fans everywhere, grab it! |
