This 1972 martial arts film by director/screenwriter Lo Wei was made at the peak of his filmmaking career, around the same time as he did Fist of Fury with Bruce Lee. Lo produced The Hurricane as a starring vehicle for Lee's frequent co-star Nora Miao (who recently made a comeback in Sylvia Chang's Run Papa Run). In this film, she plays a righteous swordswoman in the end of Song dynasty, as she and the patriotic martial clans must band together to stop a corrupt minister from surrendering the country to the Mongolians. Co-stars include Patrick Tse Yin, Chin Chuan, Stanley Fung Shui Fan, and iconic villain Shih Kien, with kung fu star Chen Kuan Tai making a brief appearance.

Many state officials have fallen victims to a severe purge by corrupted Prime Minister Ka Chi To during the end of the Sung Dynasty. One of them is Ting Chi-Fung's father. By chance, Ting overhears Ka mentions the name of swordsman, Kam Hurricane, as he orders a secret letter to be sent to the Mongolians. She calls upon all upright knights to intercept Kam. Yueng Kim-Ming, martial art expert befriends with Kam after being impressed with his fighting ability and personality. Kam hears that the secret letter is hidden inside Ting's saddle. Yueng and Kam find Ting in the company of four top swordsmen including Sun. According to Kam's words, Ting finds an envelope with Ka's chop on it but only contains a blank sheet. Sun accuses Kam's lying and Kam finally realized he has fooled by them. Ting is attacked and Kam come to her timely rescue him with Yueng. Yuen confesses that the one carrying the secret letter is not Kam but Yueng's teacher, Sun...
