YesAsia Editorial Description

Popular Aaron Kwok stars with TV comedy sensation Dicky Cheung for The Kung Fu Scholar, a period kung-fu comedy with equal doses of action and laughs. Dicky Cheung is Lun, a tricky scholar who's the class clown of his local college. He teams up with kung-fu kid Lau (Aaron Kwok) to rule the classroom, which comes under fire when they get a new substitute teacher named Li (Leung Ka Yan). Unknown to his students, Li is really a famous martial arts legend who's on the run from Imperial bad guys led by Shaw Brothers star Gordon Lau Ka Fai! But life-and-death matters of nation are just a side thing - the daffy scholars must also deal with an intercollegiate competition with a rival school! Can the class win the competition and subdue the Imperial bad guys? Co-starring Richard Ng Man Tat and the lovely Vivian Chow, The Kung Fu Scholar is a delightfully silly Hong Kong movie with fun action sequences and potent popstar presence.

Lun was a smart scholar who liked to do petty tricks and practical jokes on others. Lau had been practicing martial arts since he was a small kid. He was a straight forward and honest person. Both were students of Ming College. Lun and Lau formed an odd couple of school and had small disputes all the time. Both of them also fell in love with Ching, their beautiful classmate. Ming College and Dongfong College were long-time rivals in all the inter-collegiate competitions. The principal of Ming College desperately wanted his college to win the competitions, so he invited Li, a grand master of kung-fu, to teach his students. Actually Li was pursuit by Imperial Secret Agents. He took up the teaching post only to cover up his true identity. The secret agents found Li on the day of the competition. With help from Lun and Lau, Li managed to escape. Then both Lun and Lau got back to the competition and finally won. They became friends after this incident.

I love this movie Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I love this movie, it is so gross yet so funny. I love the music. Some days when I can't sleep, I will put on this movie. Pretty
soon I will go into a coma before I am half way into the movie. If I really wanted to see the whole movie, I have to make
myself sit up and pay attention. I don't know if it was the music or the funny jokes,it just puts me in a good mood and
relaxes me.

Fun & quirky Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
There were some laugh out loud moments especially when Dicky Cheung breaks out into his Golden Boy dream song involving Vivian Chow as Jade Girl. Classic slap stick humor & gags were on-going, as well as a healthy sprinkling of some action to keep those not so thrilled with the quirky humor.

Very funny action comedy Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
The Kung Fu Scholar is a very funny action comedy. I like the part when Vivian Chow and Dicky Cheung act as Jade Girl and Golden Boy, they dance and sing together. This scene happens because Dicky's character sees Vivian and daydreams about being with her. Very cute. Aaron Kwok is dashing as a smart debonair student and hero. But at the end, it is Dicky who is the smartest student. This movie also stars Richd Ng as the quacky teacher and Yin Kin Dan as Dicky's mother. Very good comedy.

So Funny! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
You gotta watch this movie even if your not fans of any of the actors in it. It's so funny, Dicky Cheung really makes the film! The humour is spot on, I watched this with my whole family and we laughed all the through! One thing though, why is Aaron Kwok's voice dubbed?!! he has such a lovely soft voice and they dubbed him with a really butch voice that made him sound stupid!
Apart from that the movie was really cool.
