Directed by Alejandro Agresti (Valentin), The Lake House reunites Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves for the first time since 1994's smash hit Speed in a love story that transcends time. Based on the 2000 South Korean film Il Mare (starring Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Jung Jae), this beautiful film makes wonderful use of its photogenic backdrop and talented cast to create a wistful story that lives up to the original. Bullock and Reeves are both solid in their lead roles, bringing to life a moving romance.

When Doctor Kate Forster (Sandra Bullock) moves from a unique glass lake house to Chicago, she leaves a note in the mailbox asking the new tenant to forward any stray mail and apologizing about the paw prints in the entryway. Architect Alex Wyler (Keanu Reeves) moves in and finds Kate's note in the mailbox and confusedly responds that there are no paw prints to be found, and the house should have been empty before him. When a stray dog runs past him and leaves the paw prints that Kate mentioned, Alex realizes that they are actually living in different times. They continue to correspond via notes left in the lake house mailbox, confiding in each other and gradually falling in love. But can their love rise above the limitations of time?

 The Lake House Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
The characters don't create a spark as it did in the korean version, although there is some evident chemistry between the characters. If you disregard the logic of the movie, it's a sweet and romantic movie. 6/10.
