Base on the popular, long-running comic book series A MAN CALLED HERO, THE LEGEND OF HERO is the story of Wah Ying Hung, the son of a blacksmith whose family possesses the mighty Red Sword. When his entire family is slain by racist foreigners, Wah killed the murderers and fled with the precious sword to the United States. Peter was the right character to portray "Wah Ying-Hung" and so was An Yi-Xuan who portrayed as his wife. The only drawback was that the story dragged on too much in expressing how Wah Ying-Hung wanted to unite fellow Chinese in China and overseas and as an outcome he created a lot of enemies against him which resulted in his wife's death, and separation from his twins. I also watched the movie version, portrayed by Ekin Cheng, and the ending wasn't the same as that in this TV series, I didn't have the chance to read the comic books (this was originated from a comic book by Ma Wing-shing). |
