The 1993 TVB drama The Link pools together marvelous actors and actresses like Eddie Kwan, Lam Ka Wah, Ada Choi, Amy Kwok, Gigi Lai, etc. The veteran's performances are of course superb, what take viewers by surprise are the two newcomers, Amy Kwok and Ada Choi, respectively the Champion and 2nd Runner Up of the 1991 Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Their performances in the drama have proved their exquisite acting talents apart from beautiful appearances. As a new actress, Ada Choi handles her complicated role as the villain very well.

Apart from the strong cast, this 40-episode drama also features an exciting story with complicated relationships. The story focuses on how the four siblings in the Lam family struggle to find happiness in their marriages. The eldest brother (Lam Ka Wah) develops an extramarital affair with a pretty lady (Ada Choi), who just sees him as part of her vengeance plan on the Lam family. The second brother (Eddie Kwan) suffers from some misunderstandings with his girlfriend (Gigi Lai). Eventually when they get married, but the eldest brother's mistress is ruining their happiness. The third sister (Amy Kwok), an up-and-coming actress, falls in love with a rich man (David Siu) but her boyfriend's conservative family members do not approve their relationships. The youngest sister (Lily Chung), a quiet and shy girl, engages herself in a love relationship with a married guy (Tsang Wai Kuen) and gets pregnant. 林海(張翼)是鯉魚門海鮮酒家的東主，育有兩子兩女，長子林家達(林嘉華)是典型世界仔，次子林家偉(關禮華)外表粗豪，實則為人細心，侍父至孝，但由於性格剛直，常與父發生齟齬。三女林紫珊(郭藹明)天生麗質，甚為聰穎，四女林紫瓊(鍾淑慧)性格內向，缺乏自信。

林家還有一個重要成員，便是林海之妹妹(顧美華)，年近四十，但樂觀豁達，是林家之精神支柱。任職大車行營業主任，但仍是單身貴族一名，她與男友齊亮天(朱江)的一段感情糾纏多年，仍未有結果，皆因對方是有婦之夫，而天為了道義和責任問題，一直對離婚一事遲疑不決。及至天的女兒齊雪兒(蔡少芬)，發現了父與清的戀情，更暗思報復。先是苦纏達，使他與妻子張玉卿(林其欣)鬧翻，又施計迫使偉的妻子唐可琪(黎姿)離開林家，繼而欲毒害清然後嫁禍王細九(許紹雄)。不料害人終害己……

九是琪的養父，對清有特殊感情，但基於清之心已另有所屬，唯有把感情埋藏心底。
