Best Chinese RPG of all time

The Magic Sword & The Chivalrous Youngsters 1 had been a timeless classic. Many gamers, including me, consider it to be the best chinese RPG. And I continue to hold that view for many years, until this version came out. Finally, I feel that the all-time classic has been surpassed by the Magic Sword 4. What defines the Magic Sword (Xian Jian) series is its touching plot and memorable characters. The plot for the Magic Sword 4 is simply superb. All the characters are extremely well developed, and the storyline is gripping and compelling, eventually moving me almost to tears. The story gets you thinking since there are many subtle parts to it, and I continue to ponder about it long after I finished the game. Other aspects which I like include the weapon creation system, which allows you to customize and infuse special abilities into each weapon, as well as the life-size images of the characters (as compared to cartoon figures in previous editions). Some of the special battle effects were very well done, and the enemy AI has also gotten more intelligent and challenging. Get this game - you will not be disappointed. |
