 Will TVB ever release the DVD? Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
In the past few years TVB has released a few timeless classic series from the 1980's on DVD with English subtitle, starting with The Return of the Condor Heroes (1983 version with Lau Tak Wah and Chan Yuk Lin). Then along came The Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Duke of Mount Deer, and The New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. Unfortunately, this winning streak apparently had come to an abrupt end with the release of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils in April 2007. There has NOT been any 80's ancient series released on DVD since!!! Many loyal fans of TVB (myself included) consider The New Adventure of Chor Lau Heung (1984) a definitive TVB masterpiece. Suffice to say we are quite disappointed that TVB has not (and probably will not) released this fine series on DVD. Many of us have spent our hard-earned income to buy original (officially licensed) DVD's from authorized distributors whenever classic 80's series came out on DVD. While we understand that TVB has to consider profit first, we nevertheless feel betrayed that this excellent series has not made it to DVD. If anyone from TVB is reading this, we implore you, please consider making this timeless series "The New Adventure of Chor Lau Heung (1984)" available on DVD.

I watched this when I was young. They were dubbed in english. I hope that TVB will release this in DVD with english subtitles.

This is the best Chor Lau Heung ever made.The old with Adam Cheng as Chor Lau Heung is not to bad.But with Miu Kiu Wai as Chor Lau Heung is very very best one.I watched Adam Cheng & Miu Kiu Wai but I don't watch the new Chor Lau Heung'01 maybe one day I have to watch it to comparing.The chemistry between Miu Kiu Wai as Chor Lau Heung and Yung Mei Ling as Song Si Ching are the best couple on screen ever no one can't beat the two of them.Miu Kiu Wai is suitable with his character as Chor Lau Heung,handsome,inteligent.Yam Tat Wah,he is very good to as his character playing 2 character as good and as bad.This series are worth to buy and watch,you won't be disappointing.It's only disappointing doesn't come with English subtitle.I have to watched over and over again to get know what they talking about,because I only understang a little Chinese so alot of to learn.But the colour,sound all really good.Two thumbs up for all the actors & actresses exspecially for Miu Kiu Wai & Yam Tat Wah.

Hi, I bought my copies from Singapore and yes, like you mentioned, it seemed to have been edited.

So, your copy for YesAsia as well? May I confirm? I thought of purchasing from YesAsia, thinking it will be the same as the original in the 1980s.

How many chapters and discs do you own from the copy you purchased from YesAsia? Mine comes in 2 boxes, 24 discs = 48 episodes.

WOW, what a great tvb series! Too bad you can tell that TVB cut some parts out. They should have made it longer. But still the cast is great and so is the plot. Miu Kiu Wai makes a great Chor Liu Heung, heroic,cheerful, intelligent, and handsome. Yung Mei Ling brings her character to life as a princess. She is very cute and beautiful. My favorite actor is Austin Wai who plays the swordsman/assasin. Austin has all the cool fight scenes and really makes his character believable and interesting. I think it was a perfect role for him. Go Austin! Buy this video series, you wont' regret it. It's one of the best of my collection.

I understand that colors can be change to make the drama better, but cutting off the funny and good scene does not do any good to the drama. why can they cut the boring scene? even though they did that this is still consider one of the best old classic drama.

This is the best version of Chor Lau Heun with a good story and plot. The performance of Yung Mei Ling is as always outstanding. Of course the chemestry between Miu Kiu Wai and Yung Mei Ling gives an added touch to this version of Chor Lau Heun.
Highly recommended.

I'm glad this drama series is finally out in vcds format. I wanted to own it for so long. I love the story and I also love the actors/actresses there. It's by far the best TV's Chor Lau Heung series that no fans should missed.
