一九九九年九月二十一日台灣發生大地震，全國數千幢樓宇倒塌，接近萬人死傷，數十萬人無家可歸，各國派出救援人員遠赴台灣協助救災，但這次任務解卻救了偉這個結婚逃兵，偉經已是第六次戀愛，每次戀愛都是因為女方提出要結婚而令他產生恐懼，還對婚姻失去信心，最終女友一個一個離去，這次偉第六個女友詠梅Cat向他提出結婚，偉以救援做藉口暫時逃過一役。在消防隊長帶領下，偉與數名同事趕往台中宜蘭救災。某夜在瓦礫中突然有一名男子走到偉面前著偉救他家人。偉奮不顧身走入地底。果然在一片漆黑中看見一男一女和一小童。偉即向前查看三人情況。發覺男死者文傑乃剛才叫他進來的人。偉女友Cat從香港致電給偉向他催婚，偉找理由推搪，激怒Cat，Cat決定與偉分手。正當偉心煩意亂之際。偉抬頭看見文傑就在身旁。文傑說明來意，是為報恩來助偉解愁……。
