I've been waiting for this DVD set for so long. I just want to know if it is really uncut. Can anyone who have purchased this DVD set tell me how many chapters were total? Andy is the BEST!!!!

Lobo's Review of the DVD Set on right on the mark.

To add to his review. The Set also comes with a set of bookmarks feature the main characters. The DVD covers are very well done as well as the menu system. The DVDs are split into two sets, 1-6 and 7-12. Each set contain 6 DVDs on plastic clear cases. Only complaint is that they are only held together by a single peice of clear tape, for amount paid, I expected a bit more. Other than that this is indeed the release everyone has been asking for. I guess that petition did work after all :)

It`s safe. You can buy this.

4 episodes per disc, with the first having 5 episodes (the extra being The Making of)
- Total number of discs: 12
- Audio tracks: Cantonese, Mandarin
- Subtitles: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English
- The menus are entirely in Chinese
- White-foreground subtitle text, not very distracting but hard to see in some particular scenes
- English sub does not sound too ridiculous
- Colors relatively vivid for something 23 years old (might have been retouched), washed out and/or having a greenish hue at times
- Encoded relatively well, no visible artifacts in fast-action scenes, but don't sit too close to the TV
- Some slow-moving scenes are a bit blurred, and background grainy textures visible sometimes
- Scratches on original 35mm transfer also visible sometimes
- Worth the money? Yes

 Thank you finally for DVD release... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have to say that its great to finally see the DVD version of this series. I purchased the VCD version and I felt cheated. The DVD version is a whole different story. Its great. No cuts and no added sound track. Everything is original. Nothing was altered. The quality is great. I never seen this series in its entirely so crisp clear. If you are fan, this is a must.

Now I just hope they will do DVD uncut version of Legend Of The Condor Heroes. If I need to petition for that series too, let me know where and I'll sign up.

I have been waiting for this DVD a long time. True, I am mad as hell at TVB but it is still worth it to get this for the collection. I already own a full version vcd that I bought from Singapore and still want it on DVD. Can't wait.
This is best cast and story - no other version can compare to this Andy Lau one.

is 10 DVD worse than 25 DVDs? Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Someone mentioned that the Vietnamese version is 25 DVDs, and mention that 25 DVD version is not compressed. It is simply not possible. ALL DVD video are compressed, but you can select how much you want to compress. People also need to consider if a DVD is a DVD5 or a DVD9. Since this version is 10 DVD9 discs (I'm not sure about the bonus disc), the average bitrate is not much lower than 25 DVD5 discs. With good hardware/software compresser and better source quality, this version could be better than the Vietnamese version.

hurray.... the series finally comes to DVD - and it's the complete version! I think no one but Andy Lau (of course, I mean the 22-year-old Andy) can fit into the role of Yeung Gor... and Idy Chan is so elegant as Siu Lung Nui!

10 DVDs Total.... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Now if it's only 10 dvds total for supposedly an uncut version. How can this be true dvd quality? Can someone confirm whether this set is compressed or not?
The vietnamese dvds came in 25 dvds, 2 episodes per dvd because they didn't want to compress it. I prefer 25 uncompressed dvds than 10 compressed dvds. Can someone answer this concern?

About time!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I am excited to see this being (finally) released on DVD. I am even more excited to read that "most" of the deleted scenes cut out of the original VCD series (which I own already) will be put back into this new DVD release.

Now if TVB would only release The Legend of the Condor Heroes on DVD and UNCUT, I would buy both series AGAIN!!!
