COOL !!!
| Never bought this VCD version. I have DVD version of the original VHS (chosen and converted to DVD from the best possible quality). I hate TVB's scene deletion when issuing this release. The original 50 episodes are wonderful, partly because the end credits appear at peak scenes with good music. I don't know how they change that in this release. |

This is just not right!! they cut even more on this box set than the first box!! The scences leading to ending was missing a BIG section!! But overall a great movie!! |

Great Series but....

The series is great, I always liked it and I always liked since I was 5 years old. The quality and all is great but the only complaint I have is the cutting of scenes. Maybe they didn't do it so noticeable at the very end of the last 3 - 4 disc, it might be better. They could have deleted small minutes from the previous discs and they could have left the ending a little better. They should also reconsider not to put that crappy music in too. The original tracks are good and they are good enough. The new background music they inserted just didn't fit the scenes and it ruined the scene. The cuts weren't really noticeable till the very end. Major scenes were taken out hence events relied on characters dialogs. If the viewer never saw the series on those old VHS, they would probably think the ending was rushed. The additional background music tracks were refreshing at first but quickly became annoying. Most of the time the track will not fit the scene. The music is basically all keys while the older tracks was a well compilation of orchestra of Asian musical instruments and English musical instruments. If you are looking for something great in special effects with computer graphics flying around, then this is not for you cause this is more like a classic from the 80's and back then people know how to act better and don't need those special effects to get their points across to their viewers. I bought this VCD set so I can have this series forever but I was surprised that scenes were taken out. Aside from that I am not totally disappointed but I am somewhat left with a feeling of being cheated in a way. Good thing I still have does old VHS on hand but I guess I can use this set as cliff notes to the uncut version. My finally comment or question is, why don't they just put it on DVD so the whole series can be on disc or release a 3rd set so no scenes does not have to be deleted, real fans will buy it regardless. |

Best story of the trilogy, best Chinese series of all time, BEST version out of all the terribly made newer versions, what more can I say?! Except that they screwed it up by releasing this cut crap! I don't get what was the signifiance of cutting out just about a QUARTER of the ENTIRE show! About half of those scenes were crucial to the characters and should NOT have been cut out at all. It's a shame that in the times that will come, the company may never release the un-cut version, because they're stubborn bastards only tryin to fork in people's money, ripping them off the original beauty. Even if so many people protest and sign petitions of whatever to them, they probably will never do it. Buyers, buy this at your own risk, SERIOUSLY! Remember that almost a QUARTER of your viewing experience is cut out, so please consider carefully. |

the best, but....................
| This is one of my memorable series i have seen. I saw this when i was just like 4 years old, but when i bought this i felt so ripped off. At least 20% of the end is all cut off. I partically know which parts are cut off. Some of the things didn't even make since. even my girlfriend doesn't even know what the hell is going on. If there is another version coming out, that is un-cut, i will definitely buy it. right now, the newer series are not cut, like the louis koo version (booooooooo) and others are not cut. You like heaven sword and dragon sabre, that is the only vcd set that is not cut. |

SSSoooo Dissappointed!!!!!! Cut-Out Version!!
| I really like this version a lot and when I brought this version I was really dissappointed because all of the cut-out screens. I was really upset and wonder why they did that!! I'm really looking forward to buy another same version but in the un-cut one. I'm really dissappointed and upset with this version that I brought this time. I really hope that they going to publish the un-cut version. |

Love It!
| I also love this ROCH version for numerous reasons. The main actors are superb in portraying their love and longing for each other. The hand to hand kung fu scenes surpass the more modern special effects of later versions. The actors fit their roles to a tee. I am extremely disappointed that TVB had edited out so many important scenes. Some parts of the episodes were disjointed and fragmented. I am waiting for TVB to make available the full version on dvd or vcd. |

Fantastic TV series, but awful VCD.

This is arguably the best of TVB's "golden" series released during the 80's. The storyline is superb with memorable characters and their development from start to finish - not only of the two main characters, Yang Gor and Dragon Girl, but of the supporting characters, too. Subsequent TVB remakes have paled greatly in comparison. This series is based on a book, and the book has been re-told in Korean, Japanese, China and English media (There is an English comic book series adapting this storyline.) However, if you must watch this, do not buy these VCD sets. They are butchered versions of the original. Scenes, important scenes, have been deleted and "edited." A classic series such as this does not deserve what TVB has done to it. (To be fair to TVB, they have also butchered other classics when they re-released them on VCD.) Until TVB re-release the original, uncut version, I highly suggest going to your local Chinese video rental store and re-renting the original on VHS. |

Roch83 is the best
| I just so in love with this series which is ROCH83. It is the first movie that touch my feeling after I've watched it. Idy and Andy did a great job as partner. They collaborated as well. One thing is really funny that Andy got crush on Idy while they were filming. He wooed her, but after the ROCH were finished, Idy got married in 1984. Andy did even has a chance to express his feeling or persue Idy, but he admitted to the public that he did got crush on Idy during they were filming. If any of you here feel interesting about Idy, please come to Idy website at www.cylo.erinle.com to read more news about Idy. Roch83 is the best version ever. I got my dvd set about 50 episode, and just wonder are they in full set or did they TVB just edited and cut some off. Many of you guys were told that the TVB released the 24VDC whole set, but what I had here is about 50 episodes and each about 40-45 minutes. I guess I may have the original full set i hope i am rite. |

My sister influenced me!

Actually, I never know or like this movie, but because my sister mentioned about this movie in front of me so many times. Because of her interesting toward to this movie is so great, she pulled me into becoming like this movie, too. When I reviewed this movie over again, I actually have to admitted it is the greatest and the most excellent Chinese movie I never seen. Not only the two main characters were excellent in acting their role and suited the role very well, but also other characters were very good in acting their role and suited their role really well, too. Any fighting scenes are far more beyond than excellent; especially when Idy Chan fights with other people in the story. I really love any scenes have Idy Chan fighting. I really love this movie. I give this movie a far more beyond than 10+. |
