TVB Drama Series' Songs: Nearly There...... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is an above average musical work released by Universal Music Ltd., Hong Kong, with 13 music companies (which also included in its number - its subsidiaries, eg. Cinepoly Records Co. Ltd. and polydor (otherwise known as the former PolyGram) is under the ownership of the Universal Music Group) contributing quite an impressive input of above the cut good songs dating from 1989 to 2004. I wouldn't say all songs are recent, as suggested on the promotional sticker on the front of the CD cover. Only a few are recent, eg. "Bravery For Love" sung by Hacken Lee and once known as Dior (now Emme) Wong (I love this song), and Nancy Sit's "Virtuous Harmony II" (sorry, is that the correct English title?, plus this song can be pleasant and annoying at the same time, depends on how many times you listened to this song. By the way, a trivia for you reading my review: the songwriter for the song often composes for TVB's children T.V. shows' songs.), both released in 2004. The selection of songs are pretty good, but a few are pretty dud to me. No offense. Not to mention which one, because I don't want to infuriate any Hong Kong pop singer who may read this customer's review of this product. "Shining Friends" by 2R is good, but the original sung for the series by some other Asian girl/female pop group was a notch better. Cuter and their English is slightly better than 2R's. I love Jacky Cheung and Priscilla Chan's "Getting Closer". Just a classic duet song with the pair singing in perfect harmony with some lovely intertwining in their singing (I mean they nearly sing different words in various parts of the song lyric at the same time). Roman Tam's "Confucius Sayings" is a pure delight. But the kids put me off a bit towards the end of the song. Too cute. I love Lui Fong and Joyce Lee's songs from the classic "Kindred Love" (may be wrong the English title again) TVB drama series. "A Life of Hoping" by the late Danny Chan is also one of my favourites of all time. Enjoy, my friends.

Can anything get better than this? Jacky, Priscilla, Hacken, Alan, William, Danny, 2R, Joyce, Cass, Leo, Lui Fong, Roman, Kit, Emme, Julian, etc. gives out their best in singing these TVB drama theme songs. I love every single one of them. I'll definitely buy this album.

 if if you are a tvb fan..most of these will bring Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
or at the very least, sound familiar. There are some good songs...some not so great. They balance each other out. You'll see there are many hacken songs (which reminds you that he has been in the industry for a long time)...
Even though i can't say i would recommend this album it doesn't mean its not worthy of listening to (2-3 times).

Snoopy05: where is the title did it say "NEW" tv-series songs.. so you can't rate it low just because its not new songs. Plus, most of these songs are good..so its very unfair to do so.

At first I thought this might be a new CD with the latest selection of TVB dramas' theme songs...was I wrong... all the songs haven been on previous 'theme song' collections. Some of these songs are like a decade old...coming on producers, you can do better then this!
