A Shaw Brothers horror-thriller with shocking twists and potent maternal mischief, The Siamese Twins is a disturbing portrait of guilt and ghostly revenge. Kei Po Erh (Idy Chan) returns to Hong Kong from Canada to visit her parents, but is greeted with ghostly visions and the nervous breakdown of her mother (Tanny Tien Ni). Also plagued by the same ghostly visions, Po Erh begins seeing a psychiatrist (Tong Chun Chung), much to the dismay of her possessive boyfriend (Mak Tak Law). But the vengeful ghost won't easily be ignored. After attempting to destroy Po Erh, it possesses her form and sets it sights on her family! One of the few Shaw Brothers films directed by a woman, The Siamese Twins is a chilling horror film about separated sisters and a vengeance from beyond the grave.

Mysterious horror show
| Long time didn't watch Ivy Chan in big screen. Worth to keep a look on Ivy Chan's performance in horror movie as she mostly acts in swordman TV drama. |

Here is a movie worthy of its Category 3 rating as it has gore, sex and nudity aplenty.There is never a dull moment and the leads turn in believable performances.It is interesting to see Yueh Hua and his real-life wife Tien Ni play husband and wife even though Tien Ni has a tendency to overact in her scenes. Fascinating throughout, it kept me glued to the sofa for its entire length. Highly recommended! |
