舞台は韓国の軍隊。2年間の軍隊生活を送り、まもなく除隊を迎えているユ・テジョンの前に、新兵が入隊してきた。その一人イ・スンヨンは、中学時代、テジョンと仲の良い同級生だった。規律に厳しい兵長として部下から恐れられていたテジョンだが、友人スンヨンだけには何かと世話を焼いていた。大学を卒業し、音楽や読書を愛する繊細な感覚を持つスンヨンは、理不尽に威張り散らす古参上等兵とそれに黙って従うしかない軍隊のタテ社会に馴染めず、数々のトラブルを起こしていた。スンヨンはテジョンに、自分が上官になったら今のようなやり方は改めたいと話す。やがてテジョンは除隊して就職し、彼女もできた。スンヨンは一等兵になり、初めての後輩ホ・ジフンを迎えた。ジフンの理解者になろうとしたスンヨンだったが、かつての自分以上に軍隊生活に馴染めないジフンに周囲からの反発は厳しかった。自分の信念に揺らぎを感じ始めたスンヨンは、テジョンに相談を求める…。 ■映像特典収録
