YesAsia Editorial Description

Notorious would be the first word to describe director Herman Yau's The Untold Story, but definitely not the last! This based-on-a-true-story film is the story of Macau restaurateur Wong Chi Hang (Anthony Wong), a serial killer who murdered the previous owner of his restaurant, then followed that with the family and even the children! Then, in his most infamous and stomach-churning move, Wong ground up the corpses and used them as filling for his roast pork buns! Hong Kong's official cop actor, Danny Lee, is Inspector Lee, the cop on Wong's tail, but even the worst investigative experiences would not prepare Lee and his team for the graphic retelling that Wong regales them with. Herman Yau recounts in incredible detail how Wong did the deed, and the result is midnight cinema of the most harrowing kind. Anthony Wong won a Best Actor Award at the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards for his creepy performance, and Herman Yau brings an entertaining satirical edge to the film. The Untold Story is most definitely not for everyone, but for discerning audiences, this can be a gripping, horrifying, and even darkly funny experience.

Meet for Dinner at the Eight Immortals Restaurant Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
A gruesome, relentless, crime drama about a serial killer that is both horrific & oddly hilarious at times. Anthony Wong delivers an outstanding performance as the psycho. The Macao cops are portrayed as borderline incompetent slapstick male chauvinists & solve the case through bumbling luck & occasional competence. Oddly they often speak in Chinese-English instead of Chinese Portugese. Brutal police interrogation of the third degree also evokes some sympathy for the suspect when those techniques are used to coerce the confession. This movie is strong stuff -- more graphic than the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in its realistically sickening depiction of the atrocities committed. Definitely not for the kids or for the anyone easily offended or with a weak stomach.

Really unforgetable~ Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Just tell the previous watcher. There is NO English subtitles in the VCD version of The Untold Story. And the soundtrack is available in Cantonese and Mandarin only. But I'm not sure whether the DVD version has. Or why don't you buy the UNCUT version of this movie which has been sold for a long time (outside HK)?

Wow Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Woah this was a good movie. If you want to see something shocking and gory this is the one to see. Most of all it's a true story or something too. The things Wong does are really terrible (I watched it with my mom and she was screaming and closing her eyes in the gruesome parts), but it was also shocking to see the police beating him, and you feel sorry for Wong at the end. It might be long in some parts like most police tracking a killer movie, but this one is different and after seeing everything it will pay off trust me. This movie would give Silence of the Lambs and any other similar movie a run for its money.
