Director Ang Lee has entwined all the controversial issues of that time in a realistic and spontaneous way, which has probed into the issues like clashes between a grow-in-the-west son and his conservative Chinese parents, the differences between the eastern and western cultures and the Chinese's desire to look for freedom at all cost. Starting with all the dilemmas and ending with their unspoken compromise., the love and understanding among the family has been impenetrated throughout the movie, which has shown the excellent filming technique of Director Amg Lee.

Best Gay Movie so far.... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I have seen quite many Asian gay movies. But no one of those movies can be compared with this one! This movie is really great. At one scene, it will make you laugh. And at other scene, it will make you cry. Ang Lee is really expert in doing how to turn a common plot into an interesting movie. And the acting of the main stars is just so great, especially May Chin & Gui Ah Lei. Only Winston Chao (a newcomer at that time)that needs to be polished a little bit.
