A gem among all the trash.
| Don't bother with the original DVD that has all 3 short films. This one is the only one worth seeing. Hong Kong turns out trash films on a regular basis, and this one is a gem among all the trash. The profound and moving story is of the kind that we see too rarely, and should treasure always. |

At first sight, Three - Going Home doesn't seem like a particularly appealing movie; there's no glamour, no endless list of big-name actors, no huge cast, no action, no comedy, and it's not even an hour long! For these reasons, it could have been a total failure at the box-office, but it wasn't...each and every member of cast and crew did an excellent job in making this film so watchable. Worthy of mention is Leon Lai who has managed to take his acting skills to another level and gave such a subtle and low-key yet touching performance. I think this role should shake off that idol/cool/pretty-boy label that most people associate him with. Eugenia Yuan and Lee Ting-Fung are also faces that I will be very pleased to see in the future of HK cinema. Honestly speaking, this film is not as good as Peter Chan's 1996 offering, 'Comrades, Almost A Love Story', (but then again I don't think anything can ever surpass it), but Going Home is a magnificent piece of work nonetheless and definitely nearing the level of 'Comrades...' Hopefully we will not have to wait as long as 6 years to see another Peter Chan-Leon Lai-Eric Tsang-Christopher Doyle-Jojo Hui collaboration; 2 out of 2 wonderful and successful films with this team is not bad at all! |

Read the Highlight & your life is like that too!
| After reading the highlight, I like the movie more. At first I didn't understand every detail of the movie because I am not so deep like a professional. Now I really think that the movie is well made & everything is cool! |

Beautiful Film
| "Going Home" was a beautiful film, with jaw-dropping cinematography by Christopher Doyle and assured, graceful direction by Peter Chan. I had to sit through the other 2 painfully bad shorts in the theatre before I got to this gem, but it was all worth it. Now that they have this as a director's cut, I actually returned my copy of the "Three" DVD and am going to order this instead. That way, I won't have the 2 other stinkers cluttering up my shelf. Trust me, get this and not the "Three" DVD, and save yourself the pain of watching 2 bad movies. I wish I could've done that in the cinema. |

Buy the original "Three" DVD, this version is for
| another review didn't get it...if you buy this one you are only putting another Leon DVD in your fab Leon fan collection...There is an original version of three that has all 3 movies duh! I own a copy myself (vcd though). I think this is better though to only get the Leon part since Leon is the only reason I bought the original. Now that they made a version only for his part...that's great can't wait to get myself a copy! |

An amazing film- but missing the other 2
|
Going home is a great film-- you must see it. You need to own a copy. It looks amazing, the acting is great, and it has a real creapy love story. The only thing bad about this dvd is that it is missing the other 2 films. The series is called "Three" for a reason. When you buy this DVD don't think that your getting all 3 films. I would recomend purchasing a dvd set that has all three films - "Going Home" "Memories" and "The Wheel". The dvd shown here is a bit weird because you can watch the makings of the all three movies in the special features but sadly the other two movies are gone. HOWEVER, dispite the missing other 2 films- the 61 minutes of "Going Home" is worth the price! |

Can't believe!!!

After watching so many horror movies including the American horror movies....Three "Going Home" just cut my breath short. This movie really showed Leon's talent. I am very pleased......I do recommend everyone to watch this movie. Be aware that this movie does contain two other movies one is korean and the other is singapore. But you do have to watch Going Home... Enjoy! 0=) |
