2005年年前凭《我的女孩》人气急升的李准基回归视圈，演出MBC新剧《Time Between Dog and Wolf》(剧名∶狗与狼的时间)。「狗与狼的时间」源自法国的一句成语，意指日落的时候，光线不足景物变得模糊，无法分称是狗还是狼。剧中李准基将会扮演国家情报员，并潜入犯罪集团当卧底。由于片中会有不少动作的场面，李准基将继电影《飞吧，爸爸》後又一改阴柔形象尽展男性魅力，还有《甜蜜间谍》南相美和《对不起，我爱你》郑京浩主演。

故事中秀贤自小因母亲被泰国黑帮虐打至死，而被国家情报局(NIS)特务民基之父亲收养为养子。多年之後，秀贤(李准基饰) 和民基(郑京浩饰)跟随父亲的步履加入了NIS工作。在命运的捉弄下，秀贤小时候所爱上的智友(南相美饰) 亦加入了NIS，令两人在多年後再次聚首。谁知此时秀贤却被任命于调查泰国黑帮的案件，令他的童年阴影再次沥沥在目。因此，秀贤愿意成为卧底，让他了结了多年以来的恩怨……
