Chen Kai Ge presents his moving new masterwork! It is a completely touching film about the relationship of a young violin talent and his father an ordinary cook.

Liu Xiao Chun is a sensitive and quiet 13- year old boy. He has won many violin contests and his instrument is emotional link to his mother that he has never seen before.

During a national violin contest Xiao Chun and his father Liu Cheng have to leave their residence and attend with the hope of earning international reputation. On their journey they meet a beautiful lady called Li Li who has been cheated by her lover and suffers from a broken heart. In his own unique way Xiao Chun helps her to get of her misery for which the mysterious lady is enormously grateful.

Liu Cheng arranges a proper violin education for his son in order tohelp him establish a musical career. Xiao Chun's instructor tells him a secret which causes the young student to fix his aim on the international violin contest. During this glorious moment the youngster manages to break the widening barrier to his father and rescues their almost lost relationship.

The brilliant performances of the well-chosen cast turn this touching story into a first rate cinematic experience!

Very good movie - excellent story, excellent plot Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This is a very good movie. The characterizations of the characters are very strong, and they are also very consistent. The father of the violinist boy has always been consistently pushing for his son's career no matter how it takes. The violinist boy's love for the father has been seen from start to beginning, the character of the young lady has also been consistent.

The story and the plot is simply excellent!

The conflicts within the movie are executed very well - conflict when boy falls in love with young lady, conflict of boy with his father, the hardships that the boy and father continuously encounter, the conflict of the boy choosing his career and leaving his father, etc.

Very excellent and well executed.
Acting is also superb. Nothing is too much, elements of this movie are all just right. Buy this movie. :)

If you are a classy music fan, watch this! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Personally I don't like the director, but this time he did something finally that I think it was the best of his works...but still all these little things that I can notice that he kinda controlled the film by himself...wife in it, and he was in it~~okey, enough with your endless "talents".
Liu Peiqi is indeed a very good actor...gosh he is very well-played in the whole film, and the violin kid is also very great... and Wang Zhiwen was also having a great role in the movie~~~This is a film for everybody...the music is so fabulous, and if you like classical music you should buy this...and if you like music, try it out as well cuz lotz of background musics have tons of twists!
The black humors within the music and the words throughout the whole film are also the spotlights of this movie~~
Try try~~and itz cheap buyin' the original one in here~~:)

I went in thinking this was gonna be another Chinese movie but damn . . . this movie was hot!! I was crying at the end . . . never seen such a touching movie!! =*)

This is a must buy DVD.
The story was so touching that I just couldn't stop my tears in the cinema.
The music was also excellent, esp. the opening music.
I just like ittttttttt~~~~
