Good sports drama Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The Saito brothers and Nagasawa Masami deliver solid performances in this effective baseball-themed melodrama.

The brothers and Miss Nagasawa are life-long next-door neighbors and best friends who grow up loving baseball. As small children they vow to go to the high school championships together, but realize that since Miss Nagasawa will not be able to compete, it will be up to the boys to get the job done. One of the brothers becomes an ace pitcher; the other drifts away from baseball and other commitments. The ace pitcher is killed while saving a toddler from being hit by a truck; the other brother now must step up and fill the ace's shoes. Can he pull it off?

"Touch" is at its best when it is not trying too hard; it tends to become overearnest in the big dramatic moments. However, the film's big climax is handled well and its warm depiction of the youngsters' family and school lives makes the viewer care about these very sympathetic characters.

"Touch" may not be a home run (let's call it a solid double), but is worth watching and proves to be yet another nice addition to Miss Nagasawa's impressive body of work.
