| this cd has quite a few good songs and some are a lil boring but overall i think this is a good buy. eason is a very talented singer and he's got his way to impress his fans. the mv's a kinda boring though...but it's all good because it's like a bonus with the CD...so definately buy it and you will fall more in love with eason..=) |

Don't Expect Too Much from the MV's
|
Video of "Sunset is Indefinite Good" sucks. I expected to be the same MV as used by TVB. It's a remake with only some stupid meaningless animation. All other videos are ok but just don't expect too much. I guess the MV director is new and all videos are made under a very tight budget. ------------------------------------------------------ Don't get me wrong. If you are an Eason's Fan, this is a must have. I already have the first version, and I bought this 2nd version because of the MV DVD. I am not complaining about Eason's talent; I am just complaining about the record label, Cinepoly, should have made the videos a bit better. If you have seen those music videos of Eason during his EEG era, you know what I am talking about. I guess Cinepoly doesn't have much cash to spend. I hope its products, especially Eason's CD/VCD/DVD, could improve in term of quality in the future. ------------------------------------------------------ By the way, I hope Eason will come to the US again for a concert. I'd been to his concert in Atlantic City last time and regreted that I didn't buy the ticket for the second show. |

| Excellent, Astonishing, Satisfying, Outstanding, Nice, summarises everything true about Eason, as his name spells out the five qualities evident throughout this album. Yes, I agree some songs will take time to accept them, because they're not the norm of music you're used to listen to. But it's exactly these kinds of songs that stretch your tolerance and acceptance for all kinds of music. This is creativity to the max. More creativity, so that it ensures you will receive value for money for worthy albums like these. I love tracks 1-3, 5, 6, 8-12. Other tracks are excellent, but it shall take me time to get used to it. The graphics and photos are first rate. the making of....., plus the 10 MV's are simply the best. Don't miss this gem of an album this winter/summer, depending on which part of the world you live in. Also, to point out, I bought his first album on cassette, an album and a compilation album each on CD's. All at Capital Artist. Nothing from the time he was with Music Plus (part of EEG). I simply don't like EEG products with exception to the very few like Twins (I only bought two albums of their's), Joey Yung - a concert album on CD. I hate how they market their products and sucking money with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th version of albums from consumers, especially teenyboppers. I'm over the moon that Eason joins Cinepoly Records Co. Ltd. (under Universal Music) with some of the best H.K. singers around. |

Takes a while to warm up to it
| I've had this album for a month now and I finally start to appreciate his songs and the ones I didn't pay much attention to in the beginning starts to play in my head. I guess that's because none of them are especially catchy as in commercial style songs but the flavor comes in after a while. Even the mandarin songs that usually are there just to fill up the album are good, esp. track 12 (nothing special with the lyrics but his emotions poured into the song make it very touching). I can listen to this album over and over again without skipping a track. I think the only other album I love without skipping a track recently is Jacky Cheung's special concert album. |

The Beginning
|
U-87 has to be one of the better and more accomplished albums of the year. In his previous efforts Eason demonstrated that he had true singing talent, especially in his 'live' performances. Especially on his older hits, though they may be churned out by EEG, like "Next Year Today" and "King Of K", Eason managed to convey the subtler, often unmentioned meanings, feelings and naunces experienced in life and made the songs very much his own. On U-87, however, it sounds as though Eason has really matured and developed into a wiser man, observing life with a tinge of sadness, at times a passive observer even, which makes the whole proceedings more bittersweet. Examples of this are in tracks 2, 3, 5, 10 and 12. Overall, Eason sounds like he really cares about the subjects he sings about and, for the first time, he achieves a sense of unexplainable transience and sincerity through his songs. The experience is almost at times akin to experiencing an Ozu film. Still, there exists in U-87 the occasional tongiue-in-cheek and deadpan humour in the way he sings the more vocally challenging songs as though he is fully aware that he still has to prove to the listener he can really sing...and we know Eason can. Eason has finally begun to become the singer that he was meant to be. Can't wait for the next album. |

Eason, good, songs, so-so
| Eason has an amazing voice. The songs he chose are all difficult to sing, and he has done the best he could. However, good singers cant make bad songs good. The album is only average due to that. My Favorite song is #6. |
