Despite the hopes it'll be #1 on the charts, i have a strong feeling it won't because of Johnny's (boy band group company) group is also ultimately releasing a single on that day. They are certain to get #1 weekly.
Sides that, i agree, this is a very good comeback single from thier 'mikan'. Fresh strong pop for thier new year. If this had been there post 10th anniversary single collection album, it would be very appealing. But i can see why now it's better as thier first single of the year.
My worry now, after Niigaki Risa, Takahashi Ai, Tanaka Reina graduates. The vocal strength of musume would be brittle compared to Berryz Ko Bo or other Zetima featured groups.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
How to use Sexy (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
December 22, 2007 reviewInitially, i was a bit dismayed by the lack of tracks for another major album (10 tracks) but the album turned out very awesome.
Okay, the album title seems kinda off with the bold "How to use Sexy" and with her polished sexy look but people seem to forget 'sexy' was promoted since her Morning Musume years.
I have to be honest, i bought the Limited edition with some thought i would only listen to her two singles "Some Boys Touch!" and "Glass Pumps" because i never tried an album from Goto until now. I really got interested after her single "Secret" which was a really mellow ballad away from the sultry drop dead hot music videos. If you were keeping track, she left out her post "single best" work "in my life" away. It's probably because it doesn't match the theme, but its a good single too...
Starting the album is "How to Use Lonliness," a upbeat track with some sampling from her singles. It really stood out and i liked it alot, and it feels like a club music (don't turn your Bass on too high). And then "Give me love" was also a great follow up.
Overall the beginning seems to have that energy for clubs and it slowly transitions to mellow songs like "Secret" and "Life".
I am really prepared to give this album a 10 out of 10; the experiement from two different audiences as a pop singer brings new expectations. Like instead offering music to the general population, she seems to refine it down to adult contemporary. This album partrayeda nice transition from that, so her next work should be interesting.
The DVD material was good too, especially for fans because i'm not sure those versions of her music videos have been released yet. Although most of it is eye candy, there is a must watch interview which is kind of not short, and making of the album sleeves which is pretty nice too as Goto is very photogenic (my opinion).
After i became really serious in writing reviews, i don't give much 10 out of 10's but this one striked me as a very appealing pop album.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Morning Musume All Singles Complete -10th Anniversary- (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
Morning Musume All Singles Complete -10th Anniversary- (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
(1)Our Price: US$40.25Usually ships within 1 to 2 daysDecember 22, 2007 reviewI bought the Limitied Edition (out of print now) of this product. Kinda busy to make a review back.
My first opinion about this album which kinda sums up my review is that: This Single complete is somthing not really for the fans but more for the people who have not yet to purchase a Morning Musume product for thier collection.
Each song is wonderful, don't go running to others saying this album sucks, actually i turn to listen to it alot however for fans of Morning Musume they would be left dissapointed the reason they may have purchased is the new track "Hello to You". That song didn't really stand out to thier singles in my mind.
Since majority of thier singles seem themed, for example one Single is "Manpower!!" to thier recent hit "Onna ni sachi are." It's kinda mixed up, especially the way the group in general is organized, with graduating members and incoming generations. I'm somewhat of a mediocre fan, just enough to keep up with all the members names.
This album may seem like The History of Morning Musume. With the 10th anniversary the mark of thier contributions to japanese entertainment. I suggest to buy this album for any japanese pop lovers, for people have not yet complete thier musume collection, or for hardcore fan collections.
I kinda wanted the limitied edition more cause the cover is prettier than the normal, and somthing i wouldn't want to miss. The contents are wonderful for me, for a person with no Morning Musume stuff.
I didn't regret buying this album at all. 6 out of 10Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
The Museum (ALBUM+DVD)(Japan Version)
The Museum (ALBUM+DVD)(Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(3)Our Price: US$34.99Usually ships within 7 daysDecember 8, 2007 The MuseumI got this as a present which was bought from a local supplier.
First off, i want to mention the casing for this album was the best i ever saw throughout my collection of music. It seemed like a book withing a very sturdy casing. Pictures were very attractive and cute and very pleasing to the eye (and i'm not just talking about Mizuki). The dvd, by the way, was very very cool. It even had editing to make her cuter with katakana hyperboles.
I don't really know much about Mizuki and her music. I've heard though a few of her singles and kind of resembles a Nami Tamaki/ Hitomi Shimatani feeling. A way i can describe it is a new age of pop.
The album shows alot of promise and did so throughout [The Museum]. I liked the album in general and was very appealing. Nana could relax on the music and enjoy the art in the museum but when i listen to it, it felt the title didn't fit for the songs included. I do look foward hearing more from her and enjoyable music. Tracks that stood out were the couple few in the beginning and "Eternal Blaze", "wild eyes"Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

Cyborg Oretachi (ALBUM+DVD)(First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(1)Our Price: US$38.75December 8, 2007 MusicI got the Limited Edition Version.
The Cover for this album is actually a folded poster with more angles of this robot thing. It's hard to see, but those two things are Yukari and Haruka. There are other angles to prove that. Not sure Normal Version would have the poster. DVD, was pretty cool, it had thier single promotional videos and making of "Party Time" which was very enjoyable to see.
The music seemed like polished pop rap. First track "Doo the hammer" wasn't really impressive as thier earlier album's first track [Ongaku no Susume]. After that track, the albums flow is pretty cool. There were alot of critism about "Togenkyo" single, but when listened to on this album it really stood out as enjoyable. "Look" Special edition? Couldn't really tell if there is difference yet from the single version...What surprised me is the last track seem like a upbeat version of "highway to the beach"
Overall, Halcali's [Cyborg Oretachi] presented a enjoyable pop album. However after the honeymoon opening this cd, i'm not sure i'll return to this as much as Halcali's [Ongaku no susume].Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Shalom (Japan Version)
August 20, 2007 One of my Ten albumsIt's been awhile since i made reviews. But i bet i'm getting better at it somehow... here goes..
I'm not originally a loyal fan of Mink, i was presented with her power single 'Hold on to a Dream' which was featured in RZtv (Rythem Zone Television). From there i tracked her previous single 'Eternal Love' i believe. And it was then i really appreciated her music alot.
Generally, i hate to say this, but Mink could be classified as a Climatic singer. That is, she could be holding out her strong vocals until the selling point of the song, and for some people they may be not that patient. Although, Mink, is very controlled and i have no trouble going through track 11 without wanting to skip.
From other owners of this album, they have complained that the album features practically no new songs for a couple two. Other than that, they seem very satisfied with 'Shalom' and brings back them to listen.
Her uptempo songs are very interesting, and i believe there is no uptempo single released yet. Really enjoyed the 'Secret Garden'. When you purchase this album, you'll discover some songs are in full english. Cool yeah?
Another thing some people were bothered was that Mink does not feature her own written Lyrics. It doesn't seem to bother me hehe. I've heard she really support Animal rights, plays video games, and of Korean Decent. Some fun facts. As also stated earlier, most of her songs are featured in Cartoons Such as 'Here by my side' in Amazing Nuts!. Also 'Innocent Blue' in a PS3 game. Plus the person before me have mentioned.
Product information. Well.. I can admit, if your buying the album+dvd version for different Cover. The normal version has both so haha.
I look foward to what Mink has for the future. As for now Shalom is a great debut, with [[MY]] opinion. Is a 10.

February 18, 2007 uhm...uhm...
I rate it a 9
The reason for the misleading point is probably the artist appeal for general audiences. I don't really think anyone younger than a teenger would find this album appealing because there is a Naked Women on the cover, also for an debut album, it only has two pictures...
However, Since i am older, hehe
Well i believed the tracklist was alright, somtimes the music seems to go nonstop from track to track (i think that means the delay time from the each song is kind of short?). Nontheless the songs were overall Appealing. Presenting in a Cuddle Pop/ Trance. If i had stopped my self from buying normal version, and to buy DVD version, i would have done that... I heard the dvd version was really good. By the way, if you look closely, she only has body paint on :pDid you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Heart (ALBUM+DVD)(First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version)
February 18, 2007 uhm...uhm... I thought this album was interesting...
I really thought when buying the DVD Japan version of this product, i would be kind of asking for one fast paced song (losin) and i guess ballads for the rest, however i found out this album appealed to me alot. Sure for some other customers who may have purchased this product may have thought differently, although you must consider what Yuna Ito delievers in contrast to other Ballad artist. An over view through her tracklist is that i didn't really care to skip tracks and i believed it was very well compiled list. "Fragile" had an appeal to me, (concerning this is not a single) it had more of a lovely pop. Every song is very easy listen to; concerning most of the music i purchase plays in my room stereo.
The DVD contents was interesting, "endless story" instead of having that band; it shows clips of her makings of most of her singles. I did like the fact stuck on you was not on the album, or else it would have not blended well. The music videos, are different from the promotional ones on TV, so do expect to see more Yuna rather than the band.
Recently; my DVD player is kind of broken, so right now i am missing "stuck on you".....
I rate it a 9Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
and song (Japan Version)
January 28, 2007 yayI bought it when it was on clearance. I could not believe this album was on clearance, it's a awesome album. AS is one of those singers that is sort of close to what YUI and Younha might do, but more mellow. Sky had a great uplifting beat and the first track had a deep catchy feel. I strongly recommend this album if you want to try somthing new, but be warned her booklet is quite fat.

Dear my friend (Japan Version)
January 28, 2007 Not badI wasn't really sure what rating to give this single, hmm well i didn't like it that much, or i didn't hate it...
But i already had the single callewd "faraway", and when thier album came out, i only liked this single...so i bought it :D
The first song is a mellow pop with only two lead vocals. And the second has a decent chorus. Good Buy? To me..only for my situation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

(3)Our Price: US$13.49Usually ships within 7 daysDecember 25, 2006 :DNice single, by the way i didn't know when you take the cd out, you get to see a nice beach with all of them in swimsuits.
The first song is quite catchy. And the second has strong chorus'...to put it simply.
The reason i gave this single a 10 is because the single truly displayed (although they didn't write the lyrics) thier leave.
If you have been keeping up with the singles, they didn't really release any recent slow song singles.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 25, 2006 Great!Overall i am satisfied just listening to thier samples on the net. (offical site www.ossan-live.com)
The second track displays a great acid jazz with strong vocals.
Not sure about the rest yet, it's being shipped to me now. Although i've heard the past singles, and they seem a very fresh sound to avex.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

(1)Our Price: US$13.49Usually ships within 7 daysDecember 25, 2006 GoodI'll admit, i've been a Hiro fan for a while, so my rating might be high for some other japanese pop fans.
After Hero single release, this compliments her mellow voice with character.
Hopefully she continues her career in singing. What's interesting about her new singles, that is composed of a new variety compared to her past pieces.

Coco d'Or 2 (Japan Version)
December 24, 2006 ANother masterpiece by Hiroi'm a big fan of hiro, this is proving again her range of music if broad and far.
The first few tracks are catchy, very contrasting to the first one.
However, unless you are big a jazz fan, or a mellow listener, or.. a hiro fan. I am not sure this album would do....Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

It's a great deal, and when i bought it, i thought it was a steal.
It's even cheaper than the single cd!
The songs are hyper and one slow, i'd say the only drawback its only the only One song!
Not bad, oh yeah that cd cover doesn't match to the sites one.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

September 1, 2006 Great CD Me happyhmm, well it's a dang good cd. Tracklisting may seem wierd..but it gets the pull.
The songs are really pleasant, pop, and really easy listening. With power chorus and thier nice voices. Makes a good buy.
I seriously thought the singles being close together would ruin the catch in the end... Guess i was wrong.
However the booklet is Glued? to the CD. I think it is made that way so the CD case looks like a book itself, telling a story. Cool yeah? Just becareful to know that ok.

September 1, 2006 Nice DebutThis is my first in Yifei, also my first product.
Not bad debut, usually i like Sony and Avex artists. Yifei has an interesting feel in her music, so I decided to get it anyway.
Her single is somewhat pop/rockish, catchy too...
oh btw there is a double deal with this and deveral other products.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
