Oops! Wrong spelling! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The word in my last review should be 'fascinating' instead of 'fastening'. I should have been more careful. Sorry! Also, check out the mv of Dir en grey from the internet. Like one of the previous reviewers, the mv of Withering To Death (I forget the title) is what made me interested in the works of Kyo. Also, the band has a fantastic drummer and guitar players. They are wonderful musicians.

Additional Comments Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I want to add some important comments to my last review. The CD package is one of the best that I have in my collection. (It probably doesn't mean anything because I don't any deluxe package of anything, lol!) It came with 2 CDs with engraving qualities and individual protective covers. Next to the outside cover which holds a pamphlet, there is an inside CD cover with a nice picture of a dying forest. The black and red pamphlet is filled with art designs of skeletons, the underworlds with a front picture of an eastern temple and it ends with a darken picture of grand canyons. The figure head of Glass Skin is the only modern design in the pamphlet. It bothers me that it bears heavy resemblance to a museum painting by a famous artist and I can't remember his name. The art director is artistic and thoughtful. The themes of the songs are well reflected.
However, I don't understand why the words are so tiny. It is such a waste because the lyrics by Kyo is most intriguing and fastening that I have come across by a musician. To me, he is a real intellectual. I wish the record company will enlarge the printing words so that Kyo's literature intelligence can be appreciated by the English speaking fans.

Dir en grey! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've never been very good as to when to order a CD or DVD. I got this package after Yesasia raised it to its current price. So, the first time I listened to Track 1, SA BIR which has a lot of that chanting sound, I said to myself:"Oh my goodness, I paid so much for this thing." and kind of immediately regretting my decision. I consoled myself with the fact that at least there is one song that I like and that is Glass Skin. Well, no regrets! As it turns out, I like this album. My 5 stars iTunes tracks are: Vinushka, #5, Glass Skin, Stuck Man, #9 and Inconvenient Ideal and the 4 stars are Dozing Green, the unplug versions of #9 & Inconvenient Ideal.

Kyo has a sweet and magnetic voice for a rocker. I had watched him on You Tube and the way he sings is incredible, very moving and totally gives of himself. I now even like some of the group's screaming because they are sounds from the abyss. Kyo is a talented composer. I think he has a keen ability to grasp the essence of music from the eastern cultures which I'm not familiar with. It takes at least 5 or 6 times or even more to get used to the tracks, let alone apprehend his full intentions. The prints are so small, you really need a magnifying glass to read them. Anyway, music is up to your interpretations. The music in this CD is not for every one. My favorite is still Glass Skin. When you're at a cross road and the mounting pressure is on, listen to it and its 'torrential furry' should give you a temporary relief. The other track that I like is Inconvenient Ideal. It is an amazing track and I guess that the title comes from the switching of the heavy western organ to the eastern sound, kind of switching your thought from the West to the East. I'm only giving a superficial comment on this CD and I think other reviewers are more capable with their recommendations. But I like Kyo's creativity and his emotional singing, and that's why I recommend this CD. There are at least 3 or 4 tracks that are their regular style which are more heavy metal and some with a lot of screaming. I have to admit that 2 or 3 of the tracks give me a headache, lol!

Breathtakingly excellent Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
When i listened to the new album, like their previous album, it takes a couple of times for it to grow on you.
Course of the changes in every album, this one is different in sound but still retain their uniqueness that can only be called dir en grey. Listening through their latest offering, it reminds me and brings me back to the days of macabre darkness and beauty, kisou unique combination of modern and traditional sound and the heavy intensity and maturity of marrow of a bone. And that is what their new sound is like. They have grown so much throughtout the years, be it their musicality and innovation and the daring step to cross over their musical borders and venture into some different sound. Everything that they have put out since the six ugly era, there will be some criticsicm, but let us not forget that they are still a great band for they make music as they like and not solely for the sake of fans. I hope that the next album will be full of different surprises and i really anticipate that.

Dir en grey fans Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is really good so far, im writing this as i listen to it. one thing is for sure dir en grey is a great experimental band. They have shocked me in every album and this one is a bigger shock. they have changed so much but still have their own unique sound. I recommend this album for anyone who likes dir en grey, i bought an american copy and im waiting for my yesasia import copy of the delux, the american copy has a different dvd on it so that is why i bought it, if you are hardcore diru fan get an american copy as well. Great sound, different but excellent.
