More-than-decent debut from Japan's greatest direc

Takeshi Kitano's directorial debut isn't his best film by any means, but it's still pretty dang good. It's violent, but you gotta respect Azuma for taking the law into his own hands. (And you gotta LOVE Makoto Ashikawa's Kikuchi the rookie. Poor guy takes all the abuse!) This film also features the strangest car/foot chase ever - Azuma chasing a baseball bat-wielding nut through a residential area... set to a jazz score! |
