東凛大学医学部4年生の大己は、志望していた心臓外科学ゼミに不合格となってしまう。同級の石末は『一番人気のゼミだから仕方がない』と声をかけるものの、大己は故意に落とされた気がしてならない。そんな大己が合格していたのは、亮介と同じ法医学ゼミだった。同じ頃、脳神経外科学ゼミに合格した佳奈子は、ゼミの教授を訪ね、『法医学ゼミに異動させてほしい』と頼んでいた…。
