Great movie!
| I really love this movie! Very touching movie, and most of all, I am very amazed Andy's acting!! Especially when he acted when he turned 80's!! He did really good job on this movie! Plus, story is good too. I really could understand the little boy's feeling, because I also had similer experience when I was kid. The boy learned the meaning of family and love through growing each ages in short time. I really loved it! Must watch this movie!! |

Movies starred by Andy Lau are always good
|
I did watch "The World without thieves" starred by Andy Lau before this one. That's movie was so good, but this one is a good one, too. Although, the story is not very interesting like "The World without thieves," but it becomes a surprising twist at the end of the movie. However, the movie also carries a lot of teaching info to viewers like "The World without thieves" Enjoyed the movie. It reminds me a lot of fun movies like Tom Hank or Addam ? who wishes to become an adult. |

A GREAT SAD MOVIE
A GREAT SAD MOVIE
|
This movie has to be one of 2005's greatest movies, very sad, funny in some parts and very entertaining. You will not get bored or look at your watch! After watching this film you will see how lucky you are that you "may" still have the time to correct past mistakes and get closer to those who love you. Buy this DVD and I'm sure you will like it! Unless you're looking for an action movie lol. |

Very Touching!
Very Touching!
| I, like some of the other reviewers thought this movie was more of a comedy, but instead it was a very sad and touching movie. It does include some funny moments, but I think I cried more than laughed. The message in the movie is an important lesson to be learned, as the title gives it away, but you understand the whole meaning as you're watching it. Felix and Andy did a wonderful job in their respective roles as father and son. I liked the little boy who played Andy as well as his best friend. Karen was good also, but Cherrie and Gordon's acting weren't as inspiring, improvement is needed. I also like Bing-Bing, although she only appeared briefly, but she's a wonderful actress with great potential and plus she's pretty too. Overall, this is a great movie, but be prepared with tissues...as I wish I had!!! |

very sad but good movie...
|
wah... i haven't cried this much in a movie for sometime. this movie is sure meaningful and yet sad... T______T at first i read da info bout this movie, i thought it would be like one of those similar movies as Jack and Big but, this movie is very depressing... Jack could could live through his high skool years... and Tom Hank could turn back in da other movies... However, it's different in this movie. Da kid in da movie didn't even have da chance to turn back or have da time to live da best in his life... But at least he understood da meaning of life... anyway, this movie is sure worth watching and buying. |

Best Movie ever in this generation...Some Spoilers
Best Movie ever in this generation...Some Spoilers

I must admit this is the most dramatic movie that I've seen in the 21st century...I cant recall the last time I actually cried over a movie...Being a guy, I'm usually pretty good at keepin it at a mild sob (if any), but I just lost control on the tears shed on this movie, esp towards the ending.... Esp loved those lines from the show: "The future is always filled with hope and anticipation, even if your life ends in a day, you have to live it meaningfully"... Also, thru'out the show, one could see the emphasis on the importance of "time", as it was repetitively said: "Don't let her wait any longer"... |

Comparison
Comparison
| This movie is NOT the chinese version of "Jack" either coz Jack is a kid who has this fast ageing disease, looking like 40 at the age of 10, which makes him different (only externally) from the other kids at school. Kids dislike him, making fun of him, etc. because of this, but later on he makes friends with all of them because the kids realize that he is really only a kid, a nice kid inside this big body. He makes a speech at the end when he is about to die, which touches the heart of many, conveying a message to live life to its fullest (enjoy life) no matter how old you are. In contrast, this movie, Wait Till Youre Older, is based on father-son relationship. Kids never understand their parents and seldom see the good side of them, always full of complaints. It conveys another message. Watch the movie to know the underlying message. Ive actually heard lots and lots of good comments about this movie in the movie forums so I decided to buy this movie. This is an excellent movie recently seen in 2005, probably one of the best HK movies. If you are a supporter of HK movies, then youve got to watch this. |

A great movie
A great movie

By the way, Rob, "wait till you are older" and tom hanks "big" are two different movie. "Big" is a comedy movie, emphasizes more on tom hanks characters. This Andy Lau movie is more of a drama, which emphasizes on his surrounding family lives. This movie teaches us about life. Its a great movie. |

quite boring
quite boring
| if you have watched an american movie made in 1996 calls Jack by Robin Williams, then you don't need to watch this one. The plot has similarity with some modifications except the american version is much much better. Overall, this movie is quite boring and not worth as a keeper, maybe an one time rental. |

| Before watching this movie, I thought this movie would be like Tom Hanks' movie "Big" coz I heard that Andy would grow big overnight, just like how Tom Hanks did in his movie, but after watching it, besides growing big overnight, the concept of these movies are totally different. One is a comedy, while the other one is a tragedy. Well, actually, I can't say it's a tragedy, maybe depressing, or touching. I know many cried while watching this movie. But besides the tears, one can really learn something from this movie as well. I just love some of their dialogues coz it really makes me think about TIME & LIFE. Believe me, this isn't the chinese version of "Big" like most ppl think. You've got to watch it. It's a very meaningful movie. I give it a 9 out of 10, the minus 1 is because I think the movie is a bit too short. I think the middle part, the scene at the arcade between father & son/friend talk, should be lengthened abit. The conversation btwn. them should be deeper (more inner heart kind of talk) coz I as one of the viewers didn't quite understand why all of a sudden the son understood. But besides this, the movie is great. Hong Kong seldom have these kind of movies. And the best thing is that it's a great movie, both entertaining, touching & meaningful, eventhough it's not those movies with big production, costing lots and lots of $$$$$$. Good Job! |
