　　每當黑夜籠罩法國戴高樂機場，有一個人風雨不改地在大堂整埋床舖，他己在此己等了超過１６年，但並不是等侍下一班飛機。Mehran Naseri Karimi 流亡海外的伊朗人，１９８８年他到比利時尋求政治庇護，從歐洲經英國途中證被偷，所以遭英國拒絕人境而誤將他遣返到法國。沒任何證明文件，他唯有一直留在法國機場等待，等待再等待……

　　This the Kafkaesque tale of how one man's loss of identity papers resulted in him being stranded at Charles de Gaulle airport for 16 years, and as of 2004 is still living there. Without the necessary travel documents and with no proof of his refugee status, Mehran Naseri Karimi found himself caught in a bureaucratic nightmare, unable to escape his bizarre prison. His story became the basis of Steven Spielberg's movie The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks. This beautifully-crafted and technically outstanding film is a beguiling look at one of France's more unusual celebrities.
　　As darkness falls on Charles de Gaulles airport, a man prepares a makeshift bed for the night ahead on the airport floor. Yet he is not awaiting the next flight. He has lived there for more than 16 years. Iranian exile Mehran Naseri Karimi arrived in Paris in 1988 after having been deported by the British authorities. Originally granted political asylum in Belgium, his identity papers were stolen whilst travelling through Europe and Britain mistakenly sent him to France. Without any papers, he was left stranded at Roissy Charles de Gaulles whilst the French searched for the documents. So Mehran settled down and waited, and waited and waited.
　　16 years on and Mehran, or "Sir Alfred" as he is affectionately known, has become a bit of a fixture at the airport. "The day he leaves, he will leave an empty place," says one shopkeeper, Alfred has been arrested countless times. The case soon came to the attention of the world media, and since then, Alfred's life has become even stranger. "I must not eat any more McDonalds..." moans Alfred. He carefully powders his face whilst waiting for yet another TV interview. A tourist walks past and tries to take a photo. "Apparently, he's a celebrity!" she laughs. It seems that after years of waiting for an "identity", Alfred has settled for that of being a "super star".
