The first half recounts the heroic exploits of Sun Wu (Kent Cheng), author of The Art of War, and his friend Wu Zi Xu (Roger Kwok), and the second centers on Sun Bin (Max Mok) - Sun Wu's grandson - who becomes a military genius in his own right with the help of the book.

Warrior Period boasts big production value and the show is filled to the brim with magnificent martial arts and battle scenes, mind-boggling war strategies and political intrigues, and a talented supporting cast led by Esther Kwan, Elvis Tsui, Ben Ng, and Kitty Lai.
