Not only does he sing, he is also active as songwriter, guitarist, and drummer, and is a great dancer to boot. As for his latest major release, it features 10 songs including titles like "The Most Beautiful Vestige" (Track 8), "Yellow Race" (Track 1), and "Breathing" (Track 9). pretty good
| Alan is definitely a great singer and writer! and about the song yellow skin, it's about azn pride. w/e skin color ppl will always have songs that talks about pride of their ppl. and well maybe you should listen to the azn pride, it's wayy more than this song. you might die if you here that then if yellow skin was already so offensive. but I liked this album overall. welcome to world is a good song, very fun! |

I had high hopes for this album. I turned on the first track "Huang Pifu (Yellow Skin)" eagerly and couldn't believe my ears. Lines like "to beat the enemy we take advantage right now/you better think about your descendants/or will they too inherit our sorrow/yellow skin, please stand up" and "when we go insane on the verge of world domination/you're gonna kneel on the ground and call me daddy". Who is "the enemy"? Obviously it's people without yellow skin: people like me, a white girl. I may speak Chinese but I can't change the color of my skin, and to some people that makes me forever guilty of the Eight-Nation Alliance. Why do we have to argue about who's the best? There's nothing wrong with ethnic pride, but the violent imagery in this song of world domination, combined with the thrashing rock energy of the music, makes me very afraid for the effect it will have on young listeners, especially teenage boys with more testosterone than sense. |
