Feels like Hollywood Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The overall style of Whiteout is unlike typical Japanese films. It felt like I was watching a Hollywood production (the good kind, that is). And yeah, like Die Hard, our hero finds himself fending off terrorists after being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

whiteout!! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
AWESOME Movie and top notch cast Oda Yuji + Matsushima Nanako. This was one of the TOP rated movies from Japan in 2000. Oda Yuji even got hurt while he was filming this movie back then. The story line was good and the plot was pretty interesting. I won't give anything away but this is an action/drama movie you don't want to missed.

Cliffhanger and Die Hard Courtesy of Japan Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Well here it is folks. An interesting premise finds terrorists taking over the biggest dam ever constructed in Japan. A lone dam controller finds himself battling both personal demons and the terrorists as he tries to find a way to not only rescue his co-workers but to save his beloved dam. All-in-all, I recommend it if you like action from a source other than Hong Kong.

I purchased this movie because I am a fan of Oda Yuji from Odoru Daisosasen, but was dissappointed. Not in his performance, but in the lack of dialogue throughout the film. Granted, this is an action movie, but there are far too many long stretches of scenery and not enough character interaction. For that, the actors must be allowed to speak! I thought the film would have benefited from better directing and writing... it was hard to warm up to any of the leads.
