Not what expected
Not what I had expected at all. The cover of the dvd is what made me tempted to get this movie. SIGH SIGH SIGH I gave this one to the waitress at the Korean restaurant I frequent. Windstruck is a tiny bit better than My Sassy Girl. The story is more coherent and understandable. The theme is rather depressing. In the beginning it is funny with Jang Hyuck and Jeon Ji Hyun. From there it went depressing and sad. And the ending is an explanation as to why and what happens in My Sassy Girl. This movie connects with My Sassy Girl. Yes My Sassy Girl came before Windstruck. But the story of Windstruck is before the story of My Sassy Girl.

This movie was quite enjoyable, but you have to go into it with an open mind. Many parts of it are a little unrealistic, and often you wonder how much time has really passed. But I believe that the deepset emotions that pour from this film make up for any of its shortcomings. Some may say that the characters are underdeveloped, and I can't say I disagree entirely. But despite a relative obliviousness to the depth of the character, I certainly felt sympathy and understanding for them. Jeon Ji-Hyun's acting was SUPERB as usual. Jang Hyuk was charming and amusing as usual. If there is anything you can't complain about, it's the acting. I felt like the entire movie was as much of a fairy tale as the well-produced story Jeon Ji-Hyun's character told was. You can't think of it as some really relateable love story... it is merely a story about love. Love is all you have to understand (to a certain degree of course) to get this movie. As for the references to My Sassy Girl, they were quite fun, but they definetly don't match up. But Kwak Jae-Young could easily explain it as if it's like a parallel universe or a time-travel thing that connects the worlds/movies. I honestly think that this movie could have worked much better as a mini-series. Kwak Jae-Young... make us a spectacular tv show with your wonderful story-writing! |

WTH...
There has been many mix reviews about this movie many hated it and many loved it.. i for one fall into the "hated it" club. Many people say don't compare it with my sassy girl cause it's not like it. I saw this movie before i saw my sassy girl and it's one of those movies that couldn't make up its mind on what genre it wanted to be in. The characters were very underdeveloped things this happened and you're left there feeling no sympathy for anyone. The movie started off great with it's light humor then it just went down hill from there with wierd scenes where jeon ji hyun is saved i.e. the huge balloon. Like many who disliked it i got it cause it recieved great reviews...

Windswept
What a wonderful surprise to discover that "Windswept" was every bit as good as "My Sassy Girl". The acting as well as the screenplay were well developed and well done. This one is a tear jerker, and it goes full circle back to "My Sassy Girl". I enjoyed this immensely.

" WINDSTRUCK" IS AS GOOD AS " MY SASSY GIRL"
I "look at" the wind in a different way after seeing this movie. The scene where he came back on the 49th day after his death reminds me of "Ghost" but in a much more sensual way. I can feel their love and how he embrace her with his undying love just by watching the wind. I was actually "windstruck"!. The director created the most beautiful love scene I've ever seen. It's stunningly gorgeous. You will enjoy this movie. Don't let the bad reviews stop you from watching one of the rare best movies. Don't have to compare it with "My Sassy Girl" ( Ooops, I just did!). It's a very funny and very sad movie. It's a very human and very heavenly love story. It's full of actions and lot of romantic moments. It will make you laugh out loud then cry your eyes out then laugh again then cry. It's good entertainment.

Awesome movie
My little sister hated hit. But I loved it. The music was beautiful as well as Jeon Ji Hyun. She did a great job crying. It really broke my heart. I showed the movie during a trip on a coach bus and it had all the girls bawling their eyes out. The guys didn't cry, but they liked it just as much. I hate to say it, but I enjoyed this movie tons more than I enjoyed "My Sassy Girl."

tears to my eyes everytime
i have seen this movie numerous times and every time i watch it, i always end up crying. the reason i cry is because the acting and storyline was done SO well, that i felt the happiness and pain of the main characters. many may feel that if "my sassy girl" was a good movie, windstruck MUST be good but i say different. my sassy grl and windstruck are quite distinctive altho many scenes in windstruck may link ones mind to the "my sassy girl" as if windstruck COULD BE a prequel. windstruck is much more romance than it is comedy altho YES there is comedy. i love this movie and i would definitely recommend it to all however remember that while watching, you cannot expect so much of the movie to be like "my sassy girl"

excellent movie but watch my sassy girl first
buy windstruck with my sassy girl. i got these when i bought my region free dvd player. watch my sassy girl first and then windstruck. you will really appreciate both of these movies if you watch them in this order. I'm glad i didn't have to wait 3 years between these 2 movies like the audience in korea! just watch and enjoy them. dont try to compare or think too much about tying them together or you'll be like some of the negative reviewers on this site!
