Konami's wildly popular football (soccer) series returns with its ninth installment! Entitled Winning Eleven 9, this new title features a number of exciting new enhancements and features to the tried-and-true Winning Eleven formula. Besides graphic enhancements and gameplay tweaks, Winning Eleven 9 features two new positions, Wing Back and Second Top, plus a brand new play mode called "Nippon Challenge: Go for 2006," where players attempt to guide the Japanese football team to an international championship. Even more, Winning Eleven 9 is fully online, just like Winning Eleven 8: Live Ware Evolution!

    New Mode: Nippon Challenge Go for 2006
    HK Makes It to WE9
    In celebration of the 2006 World Cup, the "Nippon Challenge Go for 2006" mode has been added to Winning Eleven 9. Here you can select the best players to lead the Japanese national team towards qualification for the coming international football event. Exclusive gameplay options in this mode include live commentaries and special shots. Winning Eleven producer Shingo Takatsuka has even indicated that Team Hong Kong will be featured in this ninth installment.

    New feature: Overhead Dribbling
    Playing in the Air
    More mid-air football action! This installment of Winning Eleven introduces more options for mid-air ballhandling. Players can head the ball, and perform chest dribbles while still in mid-air. The bigger players can even knock over smaller players while airborne.

    Middle-Distance Shooting
    Middle-distance shooting is a newly added skill for some players. These players possess impressive shooting averages, and are also able to keep the ball from spinning when shooting in the farther areas of the penalty spot.

    More Shooting Moves
    As an added challenge to longtime WE fans, Winning Eleven 9 reduces the time limit for starting to shooting to one-fifth of a second. Also, players have to shoot using their inside foot whenever hitting R2, no matter what the distance.

    More Fun Online
    According to the producer, there will now be a new 2-on-2 online mode. Also, greater balance exists; when a weaker team is pitted against a stronger team, their AI defense is strengthened to match their opponent.

    Players and teams from the English, Scottish, and Turkish Premier League are going to featured with their real names in Winning Eleven 9, increasing the licensed number of teams in the game to 23!

    I've just played it twice, the gameplay is really good, but yea it's harder than the previous WE, the graphic is getting better and better, also they put the teams into some groups *Asia, North America, etc*, they did put some extra stuff in it, for example, in the edit mode, u can edit more stuff than before. ><, it really a nice game to play eventhough u dont like soccer XD. So it's really worth ur money. ^^, WE is definitely the best soccer game ever. ><

     The real soccer simulation Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    WE 9 was like a brand new mechanism quite different from previous installments pack with new cool moves and realistic animation. However it seems that the game becomes more difficult even for advanced players, those arcardish dribbling moves to get pass players easily in WE 8 don't quite work here anymore which I think its a good think in terms of realism. Anyway what I have to say is don't play with FIFA, play WE...

    lets face it pro 2 was poor and pro 3 was average. i cant wait for this game to come out, lets face it as brillent as pro 4 is it is just pig lazy, international teams were a joke, no point in playin wif them , kit edit was a nice change but that was lazy, y can u not pick hoops for celtic and sportin lisbon. u could play hoops on sensible soccer on the master system and that didnt have lience, many moons ago was that game made, and the daft keepers. how can these chance not be fixed, crazy. plz get it sorted

    If you are a soccer lover, Winning Eleven /or Pro Evolution ver (for Europe and USA)is MUST HAVE game!!! I have long say goodbye to FIFA soccer games since I started play PES2.
