First making a name for herself with Online's Jerry and Jan plus DJ Tim Ho by forming Ping Pung, Kary Ng now returns with her first solo works.

They are assembled on her 11-track major album With A Boy Like You that features the principal songs "4 Days + 3 Nights in Taipei" (Track 11), "Love Genius" (Track 2), and "My Love for You Has Turned to Hate" (Track 4). Formerly also a member of the extremely popular female group Cookies, Kary seems to be on her best way to head on to more mature sounds!

Initial version comes with an exclusive DVD featuring 20 live songs.

ive bought most of kary's past albums when she was in Cookies and PingPung before in the past, and have always loved her songs. and so when her solo album came out, i bought it, and i have to say i love most of the songs inside!

most lyrics were meaningful, and the melodies were done nicely as well. tracks 5 and 7's lyrics were so beautiful, i fell in love with them after listening to them for the first time. the rest of the songs such as tracks 3, 4, 9 and the others were also rather beautifully constructed, and quite different from what she used to sing in the past.

my favourite tracks: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11

loved her concert as well, though her performance wasnt the best i suppose. but indeed, this is one of the best albums i have so far. i'll be looking forward to her next album! :)

I never really paid much attention to Kary when she was in Cookies. I began to notice her when she grouped with Ping Pung. That's when she "matured". I love this CD of her's. Each and every song is sung extremly well. This girl can sing! Unlike other HK artists who can sell their CD b/c of their appearance.

Well, I have always like Kary while she was still in Cookies. She was the best dancer, the best singer and the girl who has the most character, even though I have to admit that she is not that pretty. In other word, she shines among all the other girls in cookies in my opinion. Then it comes the Ping Pung. I got the album and was like, wow, this girl can really sing!! The songs on that album are really well written too. Then finally, here comes her solo album. I have to say I am a bit dissapointed. The singing was well, but I was not impressed at all. Track 3, 8, 9 are kindda nice, but there is nothing special about them and those are not songs that can push Kary to her limit. Her performance in her mini concert was not impressing either. It seems like she was really nervous and she sang very poorly when she was performing those songs from the Ping Pung album. I guess it was understandable since he was her first own concert. I still think she is a very talented singer and performer. Wish that her next album will be better >.<

I was never a fan of Cookies. As a 20-something guy, they were just too girly for me. But when Cookies dissolved and Kary became the lead singer for Ping Pung, I started to keep an eye on her! It was a pity that Ping Pung has only released one album so far. But, I am happy for Kary. This girl has a lot of potential.

Okay, she might not be the prettiest girl on earth but she seems to have character and lots of attitude on stage (but down-to-earth in real life)! And she can be very sexy on stage and when she sings rock songs, she is convincing as a rock chick (unlike many girly female pop singers in Hong Kong who try singing rock songs but sound awful). She is also a good dancer! She has the whole package, very versatile musically and performance-wise! Some newcomers I also like have nice voices and sings well (e.g. Janice, Ivana Wong and Jolie Chan). But they are a bit too girly and/or wholesome for me to be whole-heartedly in them. Fiona Sit was blessed with 'connection' and a few good songs. But I prefer Kary 100 times more!

I honestly like pretty much every song in Kary's debut album (except for the re-make of 'With A Girl (now Boy) like you') - never like that song which is originally sung by a guy!

I fell in love with 'Every Sentence of "I Love You"' the very first time I heard it. Her third Cantonese plug after 'Every Sentense...' and 'Love Genius' is called 'Loving You Becoming Hating You'. A safe Commercial song but not the best. Track #5 to #9 are all great songs! But I particularly like #6 'Toy With Me' and #9 'A Letter To My Enemy In The Game Of Love'. 'Toy...' sounds pretty funky at first and then you get hit by the story-telling like lyric; 'A Letter...' seems flat melody-wise but the lyric is a well constructed drama! The 2 Mandarin songs are pretty good too.

Watch out for the bonus DVD, great dance performance, great interpretation of other singers' songs. The first 2 songs were brilliantly - better if not as good as the original singers ('Not The School Princess' and 'Male and Female In One Body').

Get her a go, it's worth it!
