X-Men: The Official Game (US Version) GameCube

Activision brings everyone's favorite mutants back to the Game Cube with X-Men: The Official Game, . The game is set right before the events in X-Men 3: The Last Stand, the third X-Men feature film and chronicles the events leading up to the movie. With three X-Men to control, tons of action, and more, the game truly captures the excitement of the movie. Players are able to control Wolverine, Ice Man, and Nightcrawler throughout the game, using and upgrading each mutant's special powers and abilities as they battle enemies such as the Brotherhood of Mutants and more from both the feature films and the comics. Other X-Men, including Professor X, Cyclops, and Storm, also appear. The script for the game was written by movie screenwriter Zek Penn and comic writer Chris Claremont.

Each of the three characters has his own special powers, and gamers get familiar with each during the game. Wolverine's powerful claws easily defeat enemies and allow him to destroy parts of the environment, while Nightcrawler can climb walls and teleport away from enemies. Ice Man, of course, can freeze his enemies and create a stream of frozen ice to slide down. All of these abilities will be needed to fully complete the game. The X-Men movie series has become incredibly popular, and X-Men: The Official Game, provides a key part of the overarching movie plot by letting gamers in on what happens before X-men 3: The Last Stand.

The movie cast returns to their roles, including Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman. Levels include the Statue of Liberty, Dark Cerebro, and more while missions vary from hack and slash to stealth. The ending sets up the beginning of X-MEN 3.
