September 15, 2007 Previous albums were better Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
I'm a huge fan of BoA's works and have been for about 5 years now. All of her previous albums have satisfied me and I even enjoyed Outgrow quite a bit. It was a more grownup sound for her. However, MI20, even after all of this time, has failed to impress me.

The opening song, 'Lady Galaxy' is an immediate turn off because the beat just sounds too generic and it doesn't flow correctly. And it's a continuing down spiral from there. The only songs on the album worth listening for me are 'SO REAL' and 'KEY OF HEART'. The whole album just seemed to be missing something, I can't place my finger on it. It felt too bland. Too flat. It didn't have the spark that the previous albums had. This is definitely my least favorite BoA album out of the lot. I can only hope that her newest one will be better and bring me back into the BoA craze.

September 14, 2007 No good, Koda. No good. Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
'Ai no Uta' is as generic as the overused title of the song. It's bland, it's boring, it brings nothing new to the table from her. I'd say that the urban version of the song makes it a bit better but unfortunately, she only has it on the limited edition version so most people won't even get that song. One has to wonder where the Koda we all use know has gone? I agree that after Black Cherry, she seems to have gone down even more. And Black Cherry wasn't even that great to begin with.

'Come Over' is a typical upbeat pop song from her, once again, nothing special. The whole single is pretty mediocre and it's sad since we the fans KNOW that she can do better. She has done better. I have no idea what's going on with her lately. She really needs to step up her game again. I use to listen to her constantly and now I'm starting to lose interest.. ~*~come back to us Koda~*~

September 14, 2007 It is not THAT bad. Period. Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I admit that I also use to be a hater. I didn't want to give her the time of day and upon listening to her first few singles, I wasn't impressed so I stayed away. However, I gave her another chance (because I always try to give every artist I try a chance) and yes, she grew on me. The point of the matter is, is that if you're expecting high quality music and a voice that will blow you away, you're looking at the wrong album. Because that's not what this is. However, while Leah's voice isn't that great (obviously) this album does have quite a few gems if you give it a PROPER listen. Not just one listen through and chuck it. Believe it or not, I'd say that the ballads are actually the best songs on her and that's a shock considering her not so great voice. But the way that the songs are structured, they fit her voice so that it sounds nice. 'Missing' and 'Again and Again' are probably the best two songs on the album. And they're ballads.

As for the fast paced songs, 'IMPOSSIBLE' is catchy as hell but yes, her voice can get a bit grating during the chorus. But if you can ignore that, it's a pretty good opening song and it will get stuck in your head. Aishiteru~Love Story is another good song that I've always liked from the beginning. She doesn't use the typical 'Japanese voice' that she tends to try to do and she sounds pretty good. Not great, not fabulous, but good. I'm assuming people have failed to give that song a proper listen since it is the best upbeat song on the album, imo.

Also, you have to give Leah props. She composed/wrote a lot of songs on this album and that's more than you can say for other j-pop artist. She works hard at what she does and while she isn't the greatest popstar omg!ever, the album I found, was actually quite enjoyable. It's what you'd call a 'guilty pleasure' album. She's a guilty pleasure artist. She makes catchy pop music that's fun to sing along to. I give it a B-/C. About 3/5. Before you listen to the people trashing it here, give it a try for yourself. Don't let her being a model and all of that get in the way of an honest review either. She has time to improve. Cut the girl a break. I can name quite a few other j-pop stars that are extremely popular but they have horrible voices so they're not that far above Leah .

And as for the modeling thing, the only thing I have to say to that is: Big deal. There are millions of models in the world. Just because she is one doesn't make her less credible. As I mentioned before, she's pretty much on the same level with other jpop artist that are rolling in dough despite mediocre albums.
