Amazing Pair- Kenny B and Liu Hsueh Hua Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have watched this entire serial more than 20 times. Each time I immersed myself in the plot totally. I cannot help it as both the male and female leads play the roles of Yu Hang and Meng Han so convincingly. Liu Hsueh Hua never fails to amaze me how she can cry so easily. She is an excellent actress.
In this serial, you really cannot help liking Kenny B too. He played the role of Yuhang who is such a flawless character. So upright, so righteous, so likeable. You cannot help loving these two characters.
The only setback is that this serial had no credits at the end of the movie. So I could not tell what the title of the songs were. If you are a Qiong Yao fan, this is a must to add to your collection.

Beautiful story about a forbidden love Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I loved this series, although at times it was a bit slow and dragged out, but I guess that's expected of a tv series. The love between Liu Shue Hua (Lau Suet Hua) and Kenny Bee develops so slowly that somtimes it's so frustrating, but that's what makes it more suspenseful and what makes every tiny progress towards their love so exciting. Just one short yearning glance they make at each other or the very small hints they give about each others' feelings without really telling each other yet, made me think "wow, oh my gosh!" and left me feeling so exhilarated. This story also isn't just about their love, but also about family, with the most suspenseful part being the part between the father and his long lost son. The father wants so much to tell his son the truth but always finds it so difficult. Similarly, each moment between them that almost appears to be a progress towards their relationship, makes you both excited and nervous, and leaves you eager to find out more between them later. This series also made me absolutely fall in love with Kenny Bee. I think he is one of the best actors I've ever seen, and I want to see all of his works now. He acts so well - the way he looks at Liu Shue Hua is so sincere, and how he portrays his feelings is so convincing. I think they dubbed his voice in the movie, which is a pity, but at least you hear his real voice when he sings the ending theme song to this series, which is "Mistake" ("Yi Ge Tsuo Wu") from his "Simple Man, Simple Life" ("Jian Jian Dan Dan De Sheng Huo") album in 1994. (which I can't find anyone selling! not even yesasia.com??) Oh, I just want to note that the background music sometimes is annoying and too loud, but it's tolerable for the sake of watching such a good series. Also, I watched a China-produced DVD version first which was of poor (though still watchable I guess) quality, so definitely do not get one of those for this, if you want to enjoy the full experience of this series. Again, I love Kenny Bee! And if you don't already, you will after watching this (at least realize what a good actor he is, if you don't know already). He's so sweet, good-looking :) and above all, talented, being both such a good actor and a singer. This is a must-see if you want to see a story about love and family!

This is not the usual Qiong Yao type love story, the inspiration of the story came from the Bao Family & their the 7 memorial arches in An-Hui China, which makes this film closer to real life.

Even though it is only VCD, the picture quality surpass the quality of many China produced DVD. Color contrast and sharpness you get from this VCD make it worth the the money!
