It's still Yi Shu! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I've read over a hundred of her books, from the early to the recent ones. Her writing style, sense of humor, sarcasism, is still there but I'm guessing because of her age, she's becoming wiser and her writing material has become more practical. Older person like me (40's) can relate more to some of the things in her recent novel. As with her, I've also grown and encounter some of the things she described in the novel. As a person grows older, the writing material will inevitably reflect the writer's changed mantality. This is no different than Jin Yon (the famous martial arts writer), the only other favorite Chinese author of mine.

written by Yi Shu? Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I totally agree with you two, her stories definitely read very differently from a few years ago. However, at the same time, perhaps she changed her writing style in order to be more up-to-date? I spent half of my life in Asia and the rest in an English-speaking country, I definitely relate to the characters a lot more. I re-read some of her earlier stories and those were about how some Shanghainese people survived in HK. She can't be still writing about that topic in the 21st century! But at the end of the day, she's awesome! and I just love her books!

Another Good Book! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is another bestseller! Yik Shu writes another good story again. Simply read it, and you will understand the positive attitude of Yik Shu, and you can learn something from her and the book.
The story ending is good....want to know more? This is a happy ending!!!! Very good in this kind of depressing environment.
