Not so interesting....
Not so interesting....

This book is ok... not so interesting... I give a "6" rating instead of a "4" only because I really like the first story "Ru Guo Ni Shi An Qi". This story is very touching and romantic. But the rest of the book is not interesting at all. I disagree with some reviewers' point of "if others can copy her, why can't she copy others". I mean, everyone should have her/his own standard. Being as a famous author in so many years, she should be responsible for every piece of her work. Only those who don't have confidence of their own creativity and writing abilit will copy others' idea. I believe no true fan will like to see their favorite writer falls into that category. I hope YikShu can slow down on her productivity but concentrate on the quality of her book. I sincerely hope that she will not follow her brother's path and destroy her fan's feelings. |

Give her a break!!!
| There're losts of novels with very similar stories, and she may have taken the liberty of mimicing some of the Law and Order episodes, but so what!!! The stories may be the same, but the real trick is in how well the story is told and the excellent pacing. Remember the Chinese saying : "All the novels in the world are basically replicas of each other". If you've seen enough crime and polices stories like me (starting form the 60s), you'll feel like 'deja vu' when watching some of the Law and Order episodes. And BTW, her lastest novel is one of the best I've read in a long time. |

A Rip Off
|
I am glad that the two readers below me have pointed out that some of her detective stories copied from Law and Order because I did not relaise it excpet the fact that again it was very disapointing to read her books despite the fact that I too is an old fan of hers. The only possible explanation I could think of why she copy Law and Order is she might be hoping that her fans from South East Asia might not have seen Law and Order, but ah, she must have forgotten that some of us are from North America and Europe and would have seen the shows already. May be is about time she packed up her job as a writer as she is giving her readers nothing new but repetitive stories to read. |
