YMGA Mini Album - Made in R.O.K

YMGA arrives with their debut mini album. A part of the YG Entertainment family, hip-hop duo YMGA, which stands for "Young Men Gangsta's Association", is formed by Masta Wu and DM. The group's formation and debut have been followed with great expectations by hip-hop and K-pop fans, and now you can hear the results in Made in R.O.K. The album's principal track is Tell it to my heart featuring singer/actress Uhm Jung Hwa who lends her guest vocals after YMGA gave her a hand in Kiss Me on her summer comeback mini album D.I.S.C.O. Other highlights on the album produced by TYM's Teddy Park are Real Talk featuring Big Bang's Tae Yang, Scandal featuring 1TYM's Danny, Let it play with female R&B singer Ji Eun, and the YG Family collaboration single What.

2008 힙합 음악의 결정판!

힙합팬의 갈증을 해소 시켜줄, 대중에겐 힙합의 새로운 매력을 알려줄 YMGA의 데뷔앨범!

마스터우(Masta Wu)와 디지털 마스터(Digital Masta, DM)로 이뤄진 힙합듀오 YMGA. 이들의 결합 소식이 밝혀졌을 때부터 힙합 팬들은 들썩이기 시작했다. 국내 힙합씬의 최고 문제아들로 꼽히는 이들이 ‘젊은 갱스터 연합(Young Men Gangsta’s Association)’이라는 직설적인 뜻의 팀 이름을 발표한 것 자체만으로도 힙합 팬들의 상상력을 자극하기에 충분했기 때문이다. 하지만 힙합 팬들이 이들의 결합에 열광한 건 바로 이들이 제대로 된 ‘힙합음악’을 들려줄 것이란 기대감 때문이다. 이런 팬들의 기대에 부응하듯 YMGA는 2008년 현시대 힙합음악의 액기스만 모아놓은 데뷔 앨범‘Made in R.O.K’를 발표하며 국내 힙합씬에 활기를 불어넣을 예정이다. 애초에 이번 앨범을 준비하면서 마스터우와 DM의 눈은 한국이 아닌 세계에 초점이 맞춰져 있었으며, 가장 트렌디하고 대중적이면서도 진정한 힙합 음악을 선보일 것이라는 까다로운 목표를 세웠다. 이를 위해 현 국내 가요계의 새로운 트렌드를 이끌고 있는 Teddy와 용감한 형제가 프로듀서로 참여함으로써 한국에서도 이렇게 제대로 된 힙합음악이 나올 수 있다는 것을 보여 주고 있고, 이들의 이런 프라이드를 담아 앨범 타이틀도 ‘Made in R.O.K’로 정했다. 이번 앨범의 타이틀 곡은 지난 여름 ‘D.I.S.C.O’로 화려하게 컴백한 섹시퀸 엄정화가 피처링한 ‘Tell it to my heart’. 1990년대를 대표하는 남성들의 고백송이 지누션의 ‘말해줘’ 였다면, 2000년대에는 YMGA의 ‘Tell it to my heart’가 대표 고백송이 될 예정이다.
