A wonderful anime Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This beautiful anime is based from the manga masterpiece by Hitoshi Ashinano. Obviously, due to the time constraint and such, it can never be as good as the manga. However, I highly recommend this video, if you can understand the Japanese. Otherwise, you will have to find a fan subbed version on the internet. Nevertheless, this is a great anime. I wish there were more made.

The story is about Alpha, an android living in a post-cataclysmic world where the sea level has risen and is continuously rising. She runs a small cafe in a quite remote sea side area in Japan. We are introduced to some wonderful characters. The reduced human population has reverted to a simpler life, and the reader is told this is the twilight of the human age. Instead of raging against their fate, humans are quietly accepting. As, she is an immortal. We see this through Alpha's eyes, as she lives through many years of slow changes in her world. There are no violence, sex, conflicts, hate nor extreme emotions the prevail in the majority of other manga or animes. Still, you can't not stop reading the manga. It's that good. If you can find the manga, which is easy to do on the net, read it. You will net regret it. The manga is simply a masterpiece.
