The dead return to life Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Yomigaeri Resurrection" is an engrossing tale of the supernatural that manages to grab both the viewers' head and heart. Without explanation, people in one community are returning from the dead. An investigator is sent to figure out what is going on. Much of the film consists of seeing the resurrected people reunite with their families and become knit back into family life. These are touching, sentimental scenes that really bring the viewer into the film. Another part of the film tells of the efforts of the investigators to figure out what is going on; although never fully explained, it appears to have something to do with a giant crater in the ground and a strange magnetic field.

Just as everyone is adjusting to the presence of the resurrected people, the resurrected receive a premonition that they will disappear the next day. The lead investigator (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) into the phenomenon wants to try to bring one last person back to life, a dead friend who he would like to reunite with his former girlfriend. The attempt to pull off this last reunion provides the impetus for bringing the film to its culmination.

For some strange reason, the investigator seeks to make the reunion happen at a pop concert. This takes the movie off the rails for a prolonged stretch, as the film essentially becomes a concert video for a while. Ultimately, the filmmakers come to their senses, leave the concert behind, and bring the film to an emotionally satisfying conclusion. "Yomigaeri Resurrection" is a touching, if flawed, film that I can recommend for a general audience.

interesting Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I was really hooked by the first half of the film. However the second part went downhill very quickly. The scene with the concert, although the songs are nice, it was terribly terribly boring with the singer seems to be singing forever. The most touching part was the old man's wife gave up her life to give birth to their daughter and how the daughter turns out to be. That was so touching. I was hoping for a more acceptable ending. Still, the theme is very interesting. It makes you think.

People are reunited with their lost loved ones, who in turn are equally baffled as to how this came to be. During his investigation, Heita meets up with Tachibana Aoi, an old girlfriend who still grieves over the death of their friend, Shunsuke, who isn't among the resurrected. Just when Heita thinks he's figured out what's going on, he also discovers that this phenomenon is drawing to an end...

An interesting story Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
This plot of this film is truly unique. It's a fun, but also thought-provoking, film that I think most people will enjoy. The ending is a little bitter-sweet, but still worth watching. I'd recommend it.
