YesAsia Editorial Description

Still young, still dangerous, and still not done. The fifth - but not the final - installment of the Young and Dangerous series brings Chan Ho-Nam (Ekin Cheng) new challenges. When a Tung Sing/Hung Hing boxing grudge match calls, Ho-Nam enlists the aid of former buddy Big Head (Chin Kar-Lok) to take on Tung Sing's champion. Meanwhile, Tung Sing branch leader Szeto Ho-Nam (Mark Cheng) plots with a Malaysian businessman (Paul Chun) to further do in the Hung Hing gang. A new Young and Dangerous film means returning stars, fresh new faces, and even possible departures. Both Tai Fei (Anthony Wong) and Sister Thirteen (Sandra Ng) return, and award-winning actress Shu Qi brings her cute-sexy screen persona to the Young and Dangerous fold as a new love interest for Ho-Nam. Young and Dangerous 5 has all of the above, plus the requisite triad angst and action, and even an appearance by Hong Kong's most famous cinema cop: Danny Lee as Lee Sir!

A dismal installment, but not that bad Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Ekin Cheng returns as Chan Ho-Nam in the fifth installment, where an absent Chicken (Jordan Chan) and Shuk Fan (Karen Mok) result in probably the one that lacks the most in the whole Y&D series.

In this installment we see Ho Nam facing turf rivalry (again), but this time Hung Hing goes a bit more political. The bad guy offers Nam a challenge to a kickboxing match, as they both go head-to-head ina rather short, pointless finale.

Ekin Cheng was good in this movie, but he still wasn't good enough to save this movie from it's drab, overused plot. Luckily Anthony Wong and Sandra Ng save the movie as their small characters seem to be the most interesting thing in this installment. (The title song was pretty good too)

All-in-all: Nothing new, rather boring, but worth watching if you've watched the last 4. But don't expect something very great.

A mature Chan Ho Nam Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
On the down side, Chan Ho Nam (Ekin Cheng) is peace loving (as usual) in this last movie of Y&D, perhaps too peace loving.
For the first time, he actually asked the police for help. In my opinion, Shu Qi is a total let down.
There are many female actresses who are prettier than and can act better than her in HK.

Chan Ho Nam has matured in this movie, truly a triad leader with a heart. He cleverly outsmarted the baddie in the end with the help of the police inspector.
Fearlessly, he takes on the baddie (Szeto Ho Nam) in a one on one to prove he is the only Ho Nam "FIT" to run Causeway Bay.

Worst one out of the series Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I have always been a big fan of the Young and Dangerous series but I must say this is the worst installment out of the popular series. The things I don't like about this film is that the character ''Chicken''(played by Jordan Chan) is not in this film and the plot is really boring.

Where's Jordan? Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The movie was nice, but it would've been better if Jordan was there. I guess Jordan had other plans. It's kinda weird cuz Shu Qi was the girl of Nicholas (Chan Ho Nam when older) on the prequel. Then there's another Shu Qi on this one. I know she's playing another character, but can't they find another girl?? I don't like Shu Qi much. She has an annoying voice. Honestly, Ekin can't take Cheng Ho Nam. Look at the size. Ekin should've practiced his boxing...The story was okay. Not the best Y&D though.
