Every summer NTV holds the telethon charity event 24 Hour Television Special, bringing together artists, comedians, and idols together for a 24-hour marathon show that includes many special performances, variety challenges, and a touching special mini-drama. For the 2006 edition of 24 Hour Television, Johnny's group KAT-TUN served as the main personalities/hosts, and member Kamenashi Kazuya starred in the special drama Yuki along with Oguri Shun, Yuka, and Yamaguchi Tatsuya. Based on a true story, Yuki revolves around a young man suffering from an extremely rare and incurable skull deterioration disease. After receiving a 23-hour surgery, he fights to resume a normal life with the support of his friends and family, and takes on the challenge of participating in a marathon.
